@invertedlotus As I said, it is similar, but not really the same. The move is called "au batido" in capoeira (you can look up other variations of it). The Lethal-Weapon move is slightly different in the direction, you are completely right. And by the way, the move is not as difficult to make, so you can try it yourself. :)

When I saw LW 4 I had never heard of Jet. This scene shocked me. I mean I was amazed at what I saw. When I finally bought the DVD I rewound this part like 50 times. Great scene camera angles fights ... all great. You can see it on Mel and Dannys face when they had the gun on him. The were confused and in awe, normally they would have blasted the person who attacked them like this, but they were in shock. In shock one second and unconscious the next.

@ElHuevoMeLamben69 Hmm, what a strange thing to say. If you've only seen his recent western works, I can understand it to a certain point, but Jet Li is a formidable actor and person. He's been trained in Wushu ever since he was a little boy, and has won a lot of competitions world wide. He retired from competing at age 17 or so, and started acting. He was headhuntet due to his amazing skills. This combined with his good looks made him soon one of the best known actors in Asia:)

How Jet Li did this was that the takedown lever on the frame of the Beretta was rotated downward at a 90 degree angle so he was able to separate the slide and the barrel from the frame quickly.

that part where jet li takes apart rigg's gun is completely real. that is the ultimate downfall of a 9mm beretta, if a criminal gets too close to a cop with a 9mm beretta, it can easily be taken apart with three simple moves: pressing the locking button, turning the locking lever, and pulling the nozzle off the gun

when filming this they actually had to slow this part down because jet li was so fast. haha :P the time it took mel gibson to blink, jet li had already disconnected the barral from his gun. zoom up on mel gibson's face =P you'll see what i mean.
