Beautiful truck! What do you call the color of it, I've been wondering for a while. I'd love one of them old 65s, like a dump truck version or something. Our dept. has a lot of newer stuff, but nothing's quite as nice as a good old reliable truck!
Is this one still in servise? My department just got rid of a pumper just like that one. After 20+ Years of service it left the station with less than 16000Mi on it. Thankfully its now a show truck and all original still.
@HACnum1fan yes it's still our first due truck, unless of course it's broke down for whatever reason, then first due goes to Eng 3. i'm not sure of the mileage, i'd have to go look at that
@PaulieMac77 thanks! the part in the vid was built in 1977 i belive, with the ambulance bays bein put on in 82 or so and an additional 3 bays put on 2 years ago
@dustystix76 nice video i love the lime green fire trucks you have over there any chance of more video of the outside of the fire house and the fire trucks please ;)
i agree, but funding is gettin VERY hard to come by from the city, state and county...but we're makin do...i'm hearin rumblings in the department that we may be gettin a newer pumper from a neighboring town...
yeah, i've noticed those are hard to find, if we ever swap that out, we could probably get a good price for it lol. we looked it up and those are the right bulbs in it. it's only done that since i've been on the Dept. (almost 3 years)...that is still a good truck, pumps good and everything, it's just lacking on the side lighting that is required these days...if i can get the Dept talked into it, we'll add side lighting with LED's or strobes to bring em up to date..
Classic Chevy Engine with a hard to find Twinsonic Light bar. It wouldn't be too hard to make a new red lense for that melted one. I'm guessing the flasher burnt out at some point and the light stayed on that particular side.. Or maybe a wrong size/intensity bulb on that side.
I'd like to purchase the light bar on the Uptown eng. 2. fdny5555@yahoo.com Ryan
