Hey guys, I discovered that 40,000 PSI or even 100,000 PSI is not an area that oil engineers (drilling) are unfamilar with. Google "High Pressure Equipment," they have oil components and other valves that can deal with pressure up to 160,000 PSI! Perhaps the "PSI" concern that commentators have is a bit over blown? Hope this eases some concerns. By no means am I understating the other factors, such as harmful gas's, damage to local's, marine and other habitat, etc..

You should check this again. Underwater oilplumes most probably are just from the the leak, only 10% of oil normally reaches the watersurface straight above the leak, the other 90% stays in plumes underwater. So about the cracks in the seafloor, this should not be seen as THE source of the plumes. Could be, but the cracks need to be researched seperately, cause there is evidence that cracks with oil leaking out are normal and always have existed

I am an emmisions monitoring technichian, I work for some of the biggest pulp and paper mills in the US. Hydrogen Sulfide does not become toxic until it reaches levels of 500 to 700 PPM. so 1200 PPB is only 1.2 PPM, I think we will be safe from that gas for now

hydrogen sulfide, common h2s which is found in damn near any well the concentrations he listing is not as devastatingly bad as hes making it out to be, standard 8hr work days in canada require depending on province/territory that anything over 8-10ppm (as in 8000-10000ppb) that you need a fresh air resperator now hes getting worked up over 1200ppb honestly you can run around in that air, and be fine other than the smell, and by the time it hits land its gonna be near those concentrations.
