Church=SHOOT MY IN THE FACE, I'm not just talking about his voice but how they butchered the music as well.

Randy Houser's version was good.

Kracker's was fine MINUS THAT STUPID BACKGROUND BEAT. HE"S FROM DETROIT!. The man's got a good voice but come on, he's not country. He's pop. Just like 90% of Nashville now a days.

Jamey Johnson is the real country now. He did the song it was meant to be played.

As Eric Church said, most people that listened to Skynyrd, are still fans and 60. I am 62, loved them then and now. All did a great job, and I think Ashley's voice is so great. This is a musical tribute, not Skynyrd. From Alabama with love and thanks for giving us this and I have the CD, Also, I have the Album with the flames before the accident. Great job

I think the intent here is to show the genius of the music, not to try and cover a song like the original. Many of us know and love the original versions and that's cool. You can find countless covers of these songs all over YouTube. What we have here is a group of top musicians and vocalists paying tribute to a band that still serves as an icon to millions of fans. Hard to please everyone. If you want to keep it like it was then buy (don't steal) the original. Otherwise enjoy both. I will.

Eric Church destroyed "Curtis Loew". His voice is horrible and doesn't fit with the song (and it quivers all the time...God that's annoying). I think the 4 best covers on this cd are Uncle Kracker's "All I Can Do Is Write About It", Ashley Ray's cover of "Sweet Home Alabama", Randy Houser's version of "Simple Man", and Jamey Johnson's version of "Four Walls..."

I think Church and Jennings hurt the cd...BADLY.

I also disagree about Ashley Ray's version of "Sweet Home Alabama", although she has a great voice she just ruined the song. But i do agree that Jamey Johnson's cover was awesome

@joekirk321 - she did not ruin the song. And Church's voice is god-awful. You need your hearing checked if you think that it's "probably the best I've ever heard." It's terrible. Ronnie didn't write the song and sing it with a constant quiver in his voice. Church quivers ALL his notes. It gets annoying shortly into the song. (take for instance, its "go see him again" not "go see him agaiaiaiaiaiaiaian."...Annoyin­g. Church is not one of the best singers/songwriters in country music today.
