You CAN save the photos for future use. A cool thing I found out about my Touch that may work with the iPhone as well: Simply press the "menu" button [the round one on the bottom] and the "lock" button [the one on the top of the device] to take a screenshot. I'll make a video response as well just to show you. It's great :D
