  • Six people should be forced to play the net without any pads whatsoever. Or clothes.

  • 2 absolute monsters @ 3:15!!!

  • 5:58 nice dive

  • @tjackson76 *BAM*

  • Who is Roberto Luongo? I think you misspelled "KIRK MCLEAN"

  • @speier haha, you're funny

  • @speier amen

  • Man, so many great goalies in the 90's- Roy, Hasek, Broduer, Belfour, Cujo, the Beezer, Richter, McLean, Osgood, Vernon and Kolzig. The postition will never be the same again.

  • missed a lot of guys, sawchuck broda, etc today's era is so so in comparison

  • Thanks so much; I love everything about this: the music, the mix of clips both old and new and especially the angles - nice down on the ice or overhead stuff.

  • Great video. Loved the Vernon and Roy fight.

  • fuk me never realized how small the goals were ................ try field hockey a lot more fun and dangerous and harder in goal, but that just me

  • Brodeur and Roy!!!! Yeeeah :)

  • Personally, I would add Chris Osgood to the list, he will go into the hall of fame. not because of his recent play during the 2009-2010 season, but mainly because of his 3 Stanley Cups (2 of them as a starting goalie)

Patrick Roy and Billy Smith are the best by far!

  • @Rytyfe Chris Osgood?! What a joke. He sure didn't have hall of fame numbers when he left Detroit.

Just because you play in front of a dynasty team doesn't mean you are a HOF goaltender. Just look at Grant Fuhr.

  • @WithExtremePrejudice chris osgood is better than who ever the fuck grant fuhr is now hes a joke

  • @mArIoGaMeR100 Whoever the fuck Grant Fuhr is? He was the Hall of Fame goaltender who backstopped the Edmonton Oilers during the Gretzky/Messier years, and yes, he wasn't particularly good. That's the point. Neither he nor Chris Osgood deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Maybe you could have figured that out if you didn't have your head stuck up Chris Osgood's ass.

  • Billy Smith is my idol

  • F--ing AWESOME video. Nice piece of work. Love it.

  • go big turco

dallas stars all the way baby

  • Smith and Roy probably the 2 most entertaining to watch

  • my favorite goalie is tomas vokoun.

  • My favorite goalies are Curtis Joseph, Arturs Irbe and Dominik Hasek. Personally, I believe that Dominik Hasek is the best goalie ever. He may not have career numbers like Roy or Brodeur, but when it came to stopping the puck, Hasek was the best.

I also really like Giguere, Lundqvist and TIm Thomas. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @tjackson76 Malarchuk was pretty good I think. But sadly, the only thing he's going to be remembered of is getting his jugular vein slashed by a skate.

  • Billy Smith and Hextall FTW. Best and most entertaining goalies in my opinon

  • why did cloutier like cage masks instead of regular mask

  • @brodiesko to answer from own experience i'd say for better view.

  • @1984Punx i agree

  • hey dude where is brodeur ?

i like him because both of us are born on the 6th of may

  • I gotta say that those goalies back in the day had to be real tough, I mean get a puck in the face and continue to play! Most of my favorite goalies are retired or about too. My fave's are Martin Brodeur, Patrick Roy, Eddie Belfour, Curtis Joseph and Tommy Salo....don't ask me why i like him....i just do :)

  • @bueckertm Classic 90's goaltenders. That's why you like em'! ;D

  • I had tickets for the game that Malarchuk got his neck slashed but didn't go to it. I'm glad I wasn't as that was one of the most horrific thing I've ever seen, if I had been at that game I doubt I would have ever stepped back into a goal crease again. The next day I went out & bought a neck guard for my mask, still took a couple of weeks before I could go back on the ice. I've been in many goal mouth scrums but have been very lucky.

  • awesome footage. there are a couple people i pattern my play after in there.

  • LOTS of nice footage I've never seen before -beautifully done video.

  • old skool goalies were the shit!!!!!!respect man

  • Roy is the shit!

  • lol,, billy smyth was such a dirty bastard

  • I know it would be hard to find but george hainsworth deserves to be on the list. he was the first to win the vezina trophy and has records that will never be broken.

  • No Mike Vernon?

    Are you kidding me?

  • did you watch it??

  • Vernon is in here he's getting his ass kicked by Roy

  • That's why Roy had a bloody torn up face after he got in a fight with a 5'9 goalie, right?

Roy sucked, his only saving grace was his butterfly style.

  • @33nunez Vernon won that fight, But then Roy stomped Osgood's ass the next year.

  • Man how about those old school goalies....Tht was some true hardcore boys!!

  • haha

    yea!

They didn't wear masks like those pussies today!

    lol jk

  • @defiant331 Those goalies had the biggest balls EVER!!!!

  • freebird!!!

  • Brodeur is the best ever everyone else likes cock in there ass

  • well saide my friend well said

  • Man, its tough to watch some of these tenders and know that these were the only big saves they ever made in their careers. Half of these tenders were total funnels.

  • KEN DRYDEN!!!!! WOOT

  • i meant him and his team

  • i cant believe i only saw 1 martin brodeur save

  • dryden is the best..... to bad hes gettin old tho i need an autograph from him befor its to late...

  • he has 50 wins in a season dude

  • Lundqvist is better than half these bitches

  • so, that means the other half are better then Lundqvist

  • well said. great video.

  • @SucksNerd Roy Could Kick His Ass In The Pipes And Inna Fight , Watch What You Say.

  • I thought fuhr was as good as any of those guys. He played on the most wide open era in nhl history on the most wide open team in nhl history!

  • oh and dont forget jauque plante or however you spell it

  • I say dryden and roy were the best

  • yes go dryden!!

  • 7:19...

what happened and who was the goalie???

  • thats brian boucher and the puck dented his mask

  • it got stuck in his mask

  • yea it broke through...it was either a shitty mask or strong slap shot

  • Why would that guy get 6 thumbs downs for saying Roy and Brodeur are beasts? They are, Roy is probably the best to ever play, and Brodeur will go down as one of the best.

  • Awesome post, thanks...forgot one though...Vladislav Tretiak..he was one of the greatest.

  • 0:55 was my fav

  • Ken Dryden was the best goalie ever. Winning 6cups after only playing 8 seasons. Winning the cup and Conn smyth Trophy in his first year after only playing 6 regular season games.Someone like Mikka Kiprusoff will probably play for like 20 years and never win one.

  • Patrick Roy and Martin brodeur are beasts

  • I love your video by the way MAKE MORE =) great work ! keep it up.

  • Wat is the name of the song

  • lynard skynard - freebird

  • Thx man

  • how come your videos are so great :) keep it up :)

  • I love it 5/5 I want more too greatest hockey goalie video i ever saw

  • The lack of Vernon saves disturbs me.

  • You would like my greatest glove saves video then, there's like 4 or 5 Vernon saves.

  • you need more js giguere but this is a great vid!

  • Hextall's mustache is made of steel wool.

  • hextall is the next chuck norris

  • where is marty brodeur?

  • is that him at 3:23?

  • Love this montage of goalies. ALL goalies are great when you consider how many only play in the NHL! For the music, I play it with David Bowies "Heroes" or Jets "Stand Up". Gets me pumped to play!!!

  • you needed more of giguere an hasek

  • most of them a great

i saw dan cloutier in though

he isnt as bad as his stats show but he isnt great

  • Gump Worsley, Ken Dryden, Gerry Cheevers,Tony Esposito, Eddie Johnston, Grant Fuhr, Dave Kerr, and my Favorite Bernie Parent.

  • This is fantastic, where did you manage to find some of this footage! The memories, I grew up watching Grant Fuhr (GO OILERS), Mike Vernon, Patrick Roy, Ron Hextal. Especially some of that footage with Johnny Bower, I have meet him a few times, he grew up with my Grandfather, he is an amazing person with some great stories about World War 2 and the early days of the NHL.

  • pretty soon Dan Ellis will b one of the greatest goaltenders to ever skate on ice

    (oh wait, HE IS!!!!!!!!)

  • Na. thee are hundreds of better goalies!

  • whats the name of the song??

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird

  • are you kidding me?

  • Not that Carey Price isn't good...but I think it's a little soon to be calling him "great".

    Either way, great video.

  • specially after he got lit up by philly in the playoffs

  • Great Video, but where's Felix Potvin?

  • ...And this bird you cannot change!

Couldn't do it better myself. Perfect song for the goalies, the most weirdest athletes in sports history.

If you agree, then be my guest and go between the pipes and stop a speeding puck at 100mph.

I Salute all of you, goalies.

Eli kerran veskareille, hattu pois päästä :)

  • If you do another one, throw some Legace on it!

  • good video..but why did you show the goalie who got his throat cut by a skate...that's just gruesome...

  • carey price will end up(maybe!) better then ken dryden or smith

  • carey price? pshhh!!!

  • cool!!!!!

  • cool vid thanx for making this

  • Thanks!

  • BOGUS! Not a single save by one, if not the best money goalie in NHL history.... Billy Smith! LAME!
