May 17, 2008 was a Saturday. Unless you are a 7th Day Adventist or Jewish, I don't think this was your day of corporate worship. The church (building) is simply the venue for the performance.
Phil is using his God-given talents - isn't that what true worship? Shouldn't worship be a lifestyle, not something conducted in a building at a particular time of the week?
Didn't Jesus party withe outcast, the weak, the poor, the sinners? Wasn't it the religious who wanted him dead, as he exposed their religion for the empty rules that it was.
And what do you propose is 'acceptable' worship in a church anyway?

Time is one of his best rockers, and he actually does some great improvisation before he even starts the song. Here's a man who loves what he does, and does it extremely well.

God gave Him the talent and thank God he isn't afraid to use it.
The song may not be used during a service but just the same when David brought back the Ark they weren't a sleep at the wheel either .
