Ending an $80 billion war on drugs and taxing about $5 billion from pot users will do dick to fix the economy.

It seems that most of the people who argue against the legalization of marijuana have never even tried it. It seems to me that all they know about it is what they've seen on one of those anti-marijuana propaganda films from 60yrs ago. They say it's this terrible drug that leads to social unrest and is so much more dangerous than alcohol and tobacco. I don't want to sound like a hippie or whatever, but I think people would get along more if people smoked weed instead of drinking the booze.

Ive taken sleeping meds before like Lunesta and they're terrible, especially the side effects.. Sleep Walking/DRIVING, nausea, bad taste, slowed breathing..

Is there a movement that is pushing for not punishing for victimless crimes?
Barry Cooper talks about laws in the books for crimes that are committed, weather high or not.

wow cannabis is just a plant, nobody has died from cannabis but people die from perfectly legal drugs,alcohol, fire arms, kitchen utensils you name it. More people died from swine flu than from cannabis. You are able to walk down the street with a carton of alcohol, a hunting rifle, and synthetic heroin(oxycotton) but not with a plant. that logic is outrageously stupid and close minded. They don't want you taking a drug that will help you think better and think out side the box & see the truth

A lot of fallacious arguments against marijuana, but one argument for legalization sticks in my craw.
Our economy has been rocked by trillions of dollars lost on the markets and trillions more locked up by banks being over-extended in bad debts. Our government spends 1.3 trillion more than it has every year. The Iraq and Afghanistan wars cost a combined $700 billion each year.
Ending an $80 billion war on drugs and taxing about $5 billion from pot users will do dick to fix the economy.

Obviously it would help though retard. Have you ever seen a billion dollars? It's a fuckin lot of money, and you would save AND gain several BILLION dollars PER YEAR. It definitely isn't the savior of the economy, but you have to think. is there a single thing that could be? The answer is no, it will take many things to pull America out of debt, and taxing and regulating marijuana would help!

I want pot legalized, but I like it better when the foolish talk is all on the other side of the issue. Pot is not a salvation, and I think it's easier to persuade the moderates without stoned hyperbole.
It is a solid economic argument you make, without claiming some economic salvation, it does represent a considerable savings. And maybe also a lot of government law enforcement lay-offs.
We need to assert also the personal freedom to take a harmless herb,

Ok, I have multiple problems with this guy. First, he says "The answer is simple, if you legalize Marijuana. Your going to have a greater demand for Marijuana. Your Going to have more people using it, and your going to have more social costs associated with use." Wouldn't this help stimulate our econemy. Those same industries could just be transformed and move towards the production of marijuana. The company's shouldn't feel threatened by it, they should embrace it and fight for it. If legalized marijuana could make them a lot of money.

We cant use opium but we can take opiate based pills. We cannot shoot up with Heroin but we're allowed to take oxy contin the FDA regulated synthetic heroin. We cant grow hemp because of the industrial impact it will have on so many products. We paid farmers to grow hemp in WWII(hemp for victory). Billions of dollars have been spent to lobby against legalization. How do you know you have a corrupt governmnet? Because it refuses to legalize a plant, just to get that next campaign contribution WTF

They won't legalize it . aside from the drug aspect we have industrial impact if hemp is legal. All our politicians are lobbied constantly to keep hemp illegal by oil , plastics,steel, coal,textiles,timber , all of these industries would incur great impact if hemp products were legal. Wake up America! its not about just DRUGS. the pills our AMA Dr.'s want us to take. Too much money involved in too many places lining the pockets of a few while complacent people think its a drug war. Disgusting!
