George Carlin was basically the comedian that Lenny Bruce "passed the torch" to. Lenny Bruce was a comic back in the day, which made a name for himself being arrested on obscenity charges across he country. George basically put the final nail in that coffin and cemented fundamental liberty for people when he said the 7 words you can not say on TV on HBO. Because you pay for HBO, it's your choice to hear him, which is why he won the lawsuit and how he made history.
Also, people not getting the "YoYo" joke at the end of your last response are probably the kind of people you're better off not wasting your time on. :P
