  • This looks good, but I can never leave steam :D have to many games there already..

  • onlive is best

  • How do you make brag clips on "OnLive"?

  • @TbirdReal Actually it is guaranteed for 4 years of availability. I still love the service because that contract they have with publishers will probably be extended. I am soon going to buy Borderlands for Onlive. I love that game! Plus, I am beginning to use Onlive daily as well.

  • @Saieno86 i played the pc version and my internet is good but in the game i get some bad quality and some random 1 sec freezes, is the quality low cause my monitor isn't hd

  • Doesn't your games expire after two years after buying them? Also, great review!

  • @damitchman9

Once you buy the game from them, you have it for life, unless you rent it then thats a different story. =) let me know if you have any more questions that i can answer, i use onlive daily!

  • i played 2k11 on onlive and like at times the crowd doesnt look like how its supposed to and other times it does. Why is that?

  • Excellent review on onlive...:)

  • onlive looks blurry on my laptop at times, probably cause my laptop screen is like 15 inches or so.

  • the controller looks brillent

  • Why does everyone keep telling me that it runs on ANY computer, well dont run on mine. when i try to play a demo it says "your video card does not support pixel shader 2.0"

    Really? any computer?

  • @islandSTRYDERMAN Yeah any computer that was made in the last 7-8 years.

  • @Saieno86

im quite curious, on how will they manage without monthly fees, you probably know how much processing power and bandwidht they need, its impossible for them to keep up the one time purchase model.

oh and i would also like to point out that its impossible for onlive to have less delay than the PC ps3 xbox no matter what kind of controller you have.

  • @Silent33091 They've been expanding and improving just fine for over a year now without monthly fees. It's not impossible to keep up the one time purchase, it's a completely scaled system based on the users.

You seem to like the word impossible, which is basically a human reaction to things we don't understand. It's entirely possible, especially since there is still latency between a wireless controller, Xbox/PS3, and the TV. I have a video called OnLive Latency Test, check it out.

  • @Saieno86

Well lets say the monthly fee of an pc like that+bandwidth costs around 50-80$ on average 3-9 users need 1 pc/day, so users need to spend an average of 14$ each month on new games so that onlive doesnt loose money, anything above that is profit, but the problems will arise when the playerbase grows and older players wont buy new games just play :D

btw yes wireless controlers do have delay, but i wasnt talkin about those

  • @Silent33091 Instead of making a hypothetical scenario like that, just look at the actual information that is made available. There are well over 5,000,000 people on OnLive from around the world, and how OnLive makes money depends on what is going on. Its common knowledge that OnLive gets paid for demos played, they also get a cut of every game that sells. They've also made deals with all the ISPs and their hardware is custom silicon that is only useful for running OnLive. They aren't just PCs.

  • Does the controller have a headset input on it or can you not use a headset??#

  • @islandSTRYDERMAN OnLive supports Bluetooth Headsets

  • I got to try out the onlive controller. its funny how when u press the LB or RB you can feel the opposite button lift up a bit.... or maybe its just the control that i tried. anyways nobody i know knows how to tell when the wireless controller is fully charged, anybody know a way to tell? like a battery level meter? i thought there might be something similar to the ps3, but saw nothing. the onlive site just says it takes about 4 hours to charge :P no word on how u tell its "done"

  • @voidremoved There's a little green light inside the controller you can see from the bottom through the media controls as it charges. Blinking means its charging, solid means its full.

  • 3:18 Haha! I can recognize the xbox default ethernet cable when I see it. XD

  • If I buy the console can I buy a generic component video adapter cheaper or do I need the onlive one?

  • @commandobradley You'll need the OnLive one. If you're subscribed to the PlayPack you actually get 30% off of it, so instead of $128, it's only $89.60.

  • EA partnered... HOPE TO GOD THEY HAVE DICE INCLUDED IN THAT!!!! AND CRYTEK!!!! i want BF3 (64 players on micro-console :D) and Crysis!!!! FUCK YEAH EA if they get 100% on board releasing at the same time as the major consoles i will fuckin buy this. doesnt work on my pc.... every time i sign in to the website it takes me back to the sign in.... gay.

  • @EliteDWB Try using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome to login and download it.

  • @Saieno86 well theres that and the fact that the download speed for my shitty internet company is 685 kbps and upload is 257 kbps. yeah.

  • what if the server gets hacked and lose all your games

  • @ThESuBsr The server won't be hacked. The data-centers are under extreme surveillance, and protected by (if I remember correctly) about 8 feet of reinforced concrete.

  • You get less game tearing because its a console over your computer, your computer takes up other services which take up more of your internet, wherein a console just goes straight through your ISP service.

  • Do you have to pay for games?

  • @NeothehedgehogX You don't have to if you don't want to.

  • Can you play onlive on Ps3?

  • @NeothehedgehogX It's a microconsole, meaning a console on it's own. So no. You cannot play Onlive on a PS3 or Xbox360. You can play it on a T.V. or a PC/Mac.

  • I have onlive on my pc, I might as well buy that tiny beauty system.. Maybe on Sempt.. I wish Gears of war was on onlive or Halo combat.. xD

  • hell yea dood keep making videos like the details you give ALOT OF INFO

  • fuckkk put on crysis!!!

  • if u get the microconsole do u need a good connection cus i tried to stream it on my pc but my internet isnt good enouh can i get the microconsole and play

  • This is amazing

  • Great review man!

  • is there a certain connection speed u need

  • @elementskater1010 Just 5Mb/s, but the quality matters more

  • How good of a internet connection do you need?

  • Great review for a great service. Thanks for covering it so well.

  • @mcdcha0270 No you'd have to use a wifi-bridge. You can get more details at the onlive website.

  • 14 title now it 50 just yesterday Just cause 2 was added finnaly

  • now its 64 in the playpack and over 100 games in general

  • i just realized, why buy the console if you can just play for free on pc and mac and just have to buy the games

  • @awesomepossum2244 You don't have to buy the console, its just an option if you want OnLive on your TV or something.

  • 1 question what channel do u use for onlive,like componet,source,

  • @link44451 you use HDMI. That's the only option.

  • @MasterCubed theres av right below it too

  • Can you hook up the onlive console with your wireless internet?

  • I'm curious do they have partnership with Microsoft? Or is this possibly made by Microsoft?

  • @The18Jake No this is a stand-alone company. They are not affiliated with Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo in any way/

  • @gtaloversa6o it's like netflix, you pay the subscription and you get all the gaming you want I believe.

  • @The18Jake Actually there's a couple things you can do. The PlayPack is a collection of 40 games you can play for $9.99 a month. These are usually older titles, but still really good ones like Bioshock, Titan Quest, FEAR 2, Unreal Tournament 3, Trine, etc. Then they have full PlayPasses which have demos, rental options, and a full purchase option. These are your recent games like Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Homefront, and Metro 2033.

  • ok ok im totally confused haha i play xbox or i use to and i played a lot of competitive games like halo, CoD, BCBF, and stuff like that even racing and boxing games sooo will i be happy playing this i also like games like GTA 4 too so this game console looks like to good to be true its like fucking say is it butter??? haha that small little harddrive look alike thing supports all that shit

  • @Saieno86

I have a question. Can you change the avatar animation or how do you call it in the profile, because I got a random one and don't know how to change. You have this eye, did you choose it or did you get it and now live with it?

  • @SpyengoEen You have to login to the OnLive website and change your account video there.

  • @Saieno86

    Ah, ok thanks :)

  • Do you need like a HDTV will a projection screen work

  • Have you tried using the controller on the PC? It looks really comfortable. The amazing ergonomics of an Xbox 360 controller with the superior d-pad and action buttons of a PS3 controller.

  • @xJavontax They currently don't have any drivers for the OnLive Controller, but they are working on them.

  • thanks for the review f or only $100 i'm in, i dont game much but why not

  • I really like Onlive they care and listen to the community. :)

  • so does anyone know if this system is going to have halo or metl gear and etc or is this just a third party game system from the other consoles

  • @fenixtx09 Onlive is getting very popular dude and hot games are coming out for it I will predict it will prob be getting all the big games for their systyem. I asked a Onlive guy for a sales chart and it keeps going up steadily :) good sighns.

  • does it have wifi

  • Can you play on ipad? Cause if so, I am going to buy this and Ipad 2 :)

  • Want.

  • that one guy got so many headshots if this wasnt onlive id swear he was using an aimbot :D

  • Hey anyone add me if they want to play Homefront my playertag is zZGhostzZ

  • can't add you as a friend. :( can't figure out how to add a friend without actually playing or spectating them.

  • @Blu0tuth0ninja Go to Friends and click Add Friend.

  • what happens if you don't have hd can you use the component cable and will the console work thanks u rock saieno

  • @videogamestuffed Yes you can get the component adapter and use the console. Now if you mean Composite then no that won't work at the moment, but I would try playing on your computer first to see how it works for you.

  • @Saieno86 i mean if you dont have an hd tv will the system work

  • @videogamestuffed You need a TV or monitor with HDMI or Component ports, if it doesn't have that then no it won't work.

  • @Saieno86 if i have like a 360p of 480p monitor or tv with component ports will the console work

  • Damn good Review my friend. I'm thinking about picking up this gaming system pretty soon.

  • do u need an ethernet cable to play games?

  • @hardyman157

For the micro console you'll need an ethernet connection, but if you install onlive on your computer you can use wifi or ethernet.

  • also if your internet is slow will it say it can't connect

  • @videogamestuffed Yes, it will tell you if your connection drops below acceptable rates. Your more concerned about latency than speed

  • can you use component cables or do you need an hdmi cable with hd tv

  • If YOU Hooked it Up To A Pc Would It Be Running On My graphic card and processer or IS there ONE in THE micro console PLEASE TELL ME!!!!!

  • @ryanpamonetv It doesn't use your computer.

  • @ryanpamonetv

it doesn't use a computer you could have the shittiest computer in the world and as long as you have a solid internet connection it will run smoothly and at full graphics its all cloud based gaming same applies with the micro onsol

  • @ryanpamonetv you don't need no good graphics card(take me,I have intergrated graphics card{really bad} and the service runs excellent) you can run it on any pc as long as you meet their internet connection(their servers do all the work 4 the computer, your computer just displays.

  • @ryanpamonetv dip shit ITS CLOUDE GAMING dosent use enything on uer pc exept internet, dumbass

  • Can I use this technology to watch improved Internet porn?

  • This seems really nice, I will probably be using this service if or when it gets some more diverse games. The games that it has now reminds me too much of the games that are to xbox 360 (which isnt my favorites). What I mean is: Not as many FPS, more variety like JRPG's/RPG's, Fighting games and in general not as 'realistic' games.

  • The future of gaming. I would much rather prefer this then over having to hope my computer is compatible with the latest games, but I hate latency so the only worry would be my internet speed or perhaps server latency.

  • @Morkintash amen bro,i have a really crappy PC but good internet connexion.I've played UT3 on Onlive and it was great, good fps good graphics except for a bit high latency from time to time but since i live in Eastern Europe and the servers are in the USA it is understandable. Also tried to install and play UT3 on my PC to play and compare but tough luck PC is to shitty. For me Onlive is exactly what i was looking for I just hope they make servers in Europe too and have more games.

  • @TheBigBADaZz

Sounds great! Im thinking of getting it someday when the library of games increases. I live in the country so Internet sucks something awful for me (3.00 Mbps) but its better then nothing. For the mean time ill continue playing games from my comp; just recently upgraded to a new graphics card and I loving it :3

  • Wow, You really got me into this I don't think I get all of it.

I didn't understand how to get friends and where to find all of the games,

and also what's your accounts name maybe if I get it

    i'll add you

    thanks

  • Is this compatible in the UK? The website is completely American based including dollars for prices, wondered if it's available in the EU at all?

  • Is this you playing by yourself offline? Or can you play like the Borderland's Multiplauer

  • @ItsTT00NNYY OnLive is always online, you can play Multiplayer Borderlands no problem. There's even a scene where my friend and I are playing Splinter Cell Co-op Online.

  • @ItsTT00NNYY yeah you can,on any game that supports it(not that onlive cannot support it,say like a game that is only single-player compatible-Onlive can't make into a multiplayer since the game is a singleplayer only:like zelda games)

  • does this console have all the games that xbox and ps3 have?

  • @ReducedToAsh no, not currently. thats because it just launched in mid-2010, but you can bet when OnLive starts to mature it will have a very big diverse library of games.

  • When you're playing people online do you only play people with onlive or is it also pc? And if the service goes down do you loose everything?

  • I dont think im gonna get this. I have a 3.0 mbps internet speed and im not for sure if thats good enough.

  • @hourglass68825 Minimum requirements for best result is on the official web site. I believe 3.0 mbps isnt good enough, but I could be wrong!

  • is there a multiplayermode

  • does it have Wi-Fi?

  • @techformula No it does not have WiFi. The games would not be seamless with WiFi.

  • I wonder if they are going to put the call of duty video games on Onlive?

  • what is worth my free game: Just Cause 2, Assassin's Creed 2, or Mafia 2?

  • Hey, I saw your name when you were signing in and I realized we're friends on OnLive.

    What a small world a?

  • Whats the diffrence of Borderlands game of the year edition and GOTY upgrade...

Also is the GOTY(Not upgrade) In markit place?

  • @CptHellHound Borderlands GOTY and GOTY Upgrade are the same thing. You only need the upgrade if all you have is Borderlands on OnLive.

  • @Saieno86 But could I just get the GOTY edtion with a free game code

  • If you have a PC using it does it carry the games off onto the microconsole?

  • @xKFxGlitcherzx When you use the OnLive service, be it on a PC, Mac, or Micro-Console, all your games, saves, friends, brag clips, etc are automatically stored on the OnLive server along with your games.

  • @Saieno86 Now that's a game service.

  • but how did you connect the ethernet cable. did you connect that to your tv as well? because the other side of the ethernet cable has to connect somewhere right?

  • @dougsanchez06 Umm...you know how when you plug a ethernet cable into a computer and the other end goes to your router/modem? Same thing applies here.

  • How'd you manage to capture the HDMI signal so clearly from the MC?

  • @Tibbon Blackmagic capture card.

  • will this release new releases on the same days the xbox 360 and the ps3 do? and can you chat with your friends?

  • @billmc98 Yes and yes.

  • I have a quick question. Are there multiplayer games, i.e games you play online with other users?

  • @MrPrincefire Yes there are. Red Faction Guerrilla, Borderlands, Unreal Tournament 3, FEAR 2, Alien vs Predator, Splinter Cell Conviction, Madballs in Babo Invasion, and probably others I'm forgetting haha

  • you say the micro-console doesnt require a pc. do you mean I can just connect it directly to my tv like how you would connect a ps3 or xbox 360. because I tried connecting it to my HDTV and it wouldnt go through.

  • @dougsanchez06 That's correct, you hook it up straight to your TV through the HDMI. If your TV doesn't have HDMI then you'll need the component cable instead. I would google the differences so you can see what your TV accepts. As you can see in the video, it was easy to hook up and ran without a computer.

  • dude i have a question,,,do u have to pay separate for monthly fee aside from buying the game?and how do u purchase a game?from a credit card or something like psn cards or xbla cards? and they say that it is like watching a youtube video,so does this mean that it is going to affect my gigabyte intake(coz its expensive)?i know that it is going to affect it but to be specific by how much?coz i know that games are like 12 gig or more and i only have a limit of 60 gig per month.TY.pls reply.

  • @wordimakambal There are two kinds of games on OnLive: PlayPass and PlayPack games. For PlayPass games, you must purchase a PlayPass for each game individually (basically like buying the game), but with no monthly fee attached. The monthly fee is for the PlayPack, which is a bunch of older/indie titles. For $10/month, you get full access to every game in the PlayPack. This fee is NOT required at all to use OnLive or to play PlayPass games.

  • @Demonx2D ,,alright thanks man,i think ill give this a try..

  • @wordimakambal There is no monthly fee unless you subscribe to playpack. You can just use the service for free and purchase individual games as you want.

  • does this require a PC?

  • @CowsAndSheeps The Micro-Console doesn't require a PC, though the PC and Mac does have a free client.

  • @Saieno86 so If I get this where's the game stored. I wanna connect 2 my TV

  • @CowsAndSheeps The game is stored online in OnLives servers. It can be accessed on any device.

  • @Saieno86 That's pretty sweet Thx I mite get if game like Infamous and Little Big Planet comes to this console since I only have a 360/

  • That moment @ 13:00 when you switched from Assassin Creed to Unreal ... OMG dude, it hit me hard ....I'm sold from that moment alone. And to think that this is coming from someone with a capable PC.

  • @semo2010 Great! Its free anyway so not much to sell you on, but definitely check it out for sure. =)

  • do you see Microsoft, Sony and maybe even Nintendo doing something similar to this with their next consoles?

  • that control is freakin sexy

  • i am probably getting onlive for my birthday

  • can u use it for wireless gaming

  • One question: Have you tried running it through an AV receiver via HDMI and does it provide 5.1 that way?

  • @tonyend2001 Never mind...found the answer on the OnlLive Website:

If your receiver has HDMI pass-through to the TV, you can simply attach the HDMI cable to the receiver. Alternatively, you can use an optical audio cable (available at consumer electronics stores). If you have an analog amplifier, you can use a minijack-to-RCA stereo cable (available at consumer electronics stores; also included in the OnLive Component Video Adapter package available at the OnLive Web Store).

  • Thanks for this review. I was looking at getting the micro console and your review has helped me to make up my mind. This service is just what I've been waiting for.

  • @combatarmsreviews5 How do you mean? Splitscreen then yes. Online then yes.

  • i tried using the service and it said i didnt have a fast enough connection speed to provide good video quality, is it possible to use the hdmi adapter to make it so graphics dont matter?

  • @almostwindowsx7 No, your internet matters. You need at least 3Mb/s while 5Mb/s is preferred.

  • @Saieno86 that sucks, my internet speed is 2.45 so i only barely miss it

  • @combatarmsreviews5 Check my Latency Test on my YouTube channel.

  • @combatarmsreviews5 The HDMI cable comes with it, there are no Composite cables though you can by optional Component cables.

  • hey saino, I've got 1 more question. Do you have to hook the microconsole up to your modem to get it to work? Or is the microconsole sort of like a mini-wifi hotspot?

  • @arttagboy The micro-console doesn't support wifi in the current model. They have alternatives though you can look up on their website.

  • Isn't the HDMI sound aswell anyway?

  • @TheTommyTC HDMI can do sound as well, but if you want surround sound using the stereo jack or optical audio jack will give you 5.1 surround sound.

  • How is the graphical qualities of the games? Because I'm wondering if Onlive was telling the truth, claiming there games run on PC hardware. If so, would you say they look better then home Consoles

  • @nmartell1007 I have a PC vs PS3 vs OnLive video comparison you can check out yourself. OnLive runs on PC hardware just like all consoles do, however OnLive is very much so a console and not a PC. The graphics and performance are much better than Xbox 360 and PS3, and you can see the PC vs PS3 vs OnLive comparison video in my channel.

  • @Saieno86 Thanks, I appreciate it.

  • onlive can play - halo 3 and uncharted drake without 360 or ps3 thingy?

  • How much internet data does it use... my limit is 90gb a month and I dont want to go over

  • does it come with the av cables or only hd??

  • @XxSHATTEREDGAMINGxX Only HDMI cables, though they sell Component cables separately.

  • @Mistacoolioman Not for the Micro-Console no.

  • Wow, great review! One quick question though; can the micro console be connected to the internet via wifi?? Oh and how good does your internet have to be?

  • @SsigsEvryThng There currently isn't wifi support, though their website explains some alternatives. Also, you internet just needs to be a steady connection of at least 3Mb/s, or 375KB/s.

  • I don't have any money for aps3 or 360... do you reccomend I get this?

  • @arttagboy Very much so. It's a great value and you even get a free game with it.

  • BEST ONLIVE VIDEO REVIEW EVER !

  • This is a really nice walkthrough of the service!

  • Thanks nice review.
