  • Got a chance to meet her in person tonight. She's visiting my newest friend who is a singer from the 60's. Yes, she still looks very young and beautiful.

  • I Feel Bad For Virak Dara. She Sings So Beautifuly But She Can't Raise Her Voice To High

  • that's good that u tried to upload all these khmer video, thanks u. old khmer movie is my favorite. by the way, do u have a whole movie of Puthisen Neang Kong Rey. i'll be glad if u could.

i will look forward from you, thanks ^_^ !

  • just love her voice. even she is not the single but much much better than cambodian singers today.

  • hauntingly beautiful. Cambodian women definitely one of the most faithful women

  • the ground opening part was actually real when the story happen in that time

  • cool at 4:05

  • The last time I saw this movie I was 5 years old. I wish I can see the whole thing again!!

  • I wish the old directors in cambodia werent killed during the khmer rouge. I bet they wouldve passe down there talents to the new ones

  • Yayyyyyyyyy, thanks for posting this up, I've been searching for this song.

  • It just comes to show how gifted the directors were in the past as this movie was made without the aid of computer special effects that are readily available now. This is truly one of the best masterpieces of the film industry.

Though I doubt the singing part of this clip was in the original theatrical release.

I do hope that Ly Bun Yim does release these films in the future in order to set a standard for the industry and while preserving and sharing a near forgotten era.

  • Is that Houy Meas singing in the first singing part?

  • @tolytin69 It's actually Virak Dara herself who sang this song. Cool huh? :)

  • are you sure you don't have this movie?!...lol

  • Ly Bun Yim released clips of Kang Rey and Sopasith as part of a teaser on video cassette. Apparently you had to call in a number in order to get a copy when it was released later in the future or something. When An Euy Srey An was released it was massively pirated so he wanted to prevent that from happening again. Later he just decided not to release the films but have public showings in the early 90s as far as I know.

  • yeah i remember they had those public showings somewhere but don't really remember where. is Ly Bun Yin a director from the 60's? if so, is he still alive today? also do they still have those phone numbers to call to get copies of movies nowadays?

  • This is sad story, ku ar nit neang Kong reay nas...... Thanks for sharing.

  • One of my all time favorite Khmer movies, although i never saw this version. Thanks!

  • This film is so much more realistic than the one from 2000. I don't know how you can possibly get a hold of one of these rare classics, thanks for the upload. I hope you are able to find more classics and upload them.

  • 42 years after, this movie remains always lively.

Thank for spending time to make this clip, Nate.
