I bought a '79 xs750... I wanted to make it more sporty. I have an opurtunity to buy the back half of a 79 xs850 with the wider swingarm and wider wheel. I measured the swingarms and they should match up but i'm woried about the driveshaft. Any Idea if they are interchangeable? Any help would be appreciated.
i see you're using a 3 into 1 air cleaner . did you have to reject the carbs to compensate for the extra air flow? also do you like this air cleaner set up compared to the original air box it came with. I was considersing doing the same thing to my bike. I have a 79 xs 750 special. Also could you make any suggestion as far as a slip on muffler that sounds goes and give good performance. thanks,ben

one of the coolest bikes I've seen but... ditch the starter motor and battery and you'd have more places to stick your tools/contraband!

Homemade 3-1 BSA Rocket-like.
I just cut an oval SS plate, welded three pipesections onto it and some fine gauzestrip.
Stuffed it with a sponge and closed it up.
