I love Slovakia! I moved here from New Zealand last month and I've just started learning the (rather complicated) Slovak language.

Slovakia really has everything: Mountains, rivers, lakes, culture, food and wine - you name it. It's spectacular, and I'm proud to call it my new home!

Slovakia is really beautiful country, and I am proud to be SLOVAK! Its a pitty our capital Bratislava isnt looking better....if it could it would be much better and Slovakia could be even more famous....Czech people have a beautiful Prague but we have beautiful countryside, mountains, lakes, caves.......it depends of people wht they prefer more....:)

@TheOllakika Tak Bratislava bola hlavným mestom celého Uhorského kráľovstva, bola tam korunovaná Mária Terézia, bola korunovačným mestom Uhorských kráľov. Bratislava nie je až tak neznáma, čo by dali napr. taký Slovinci, Chorváti za to aby mali také hlavné mesto?

I think our little country will do better if every service not just hotels, restaurants would improve their standards.. unfortunately shops are not open long enough example souvenirs shop in Kosice closes at 5pm.. people at train stations at information desk speaks no English at all etc.. it is not just hotel and restaurants that tourists use .. and one more think... sales assistants are mostly not helpful.. there are still things to improve... our tourism can do better

I'm an American who recently traveled through Europe, and I must say that while the whole continent was gorgeous, Slovakia was by far the most beautiful place I visited. I am also a big fan of your hockey team. Marian Gaborik is my favorite hockey player and I will be rooting for him tomorrow night against Canada in the Olympics. Oh and the movie Hostel is a piece of shit. I don't think you can even call it a movie...

Obviously, in reality not everything is as great as in the video but Slovakia has probably the highest number of medieval castles and caves per capita. If you like this sort of thing and especially trekking, you should visit the northern, mountainous part of the country. Foreign people keep telling me how beautiful it is :) Bratislava old town is also OK, but the suburbs are not that pleasant. There are some nice towns in the eastern part too, but occasionally also gypsy villages :)

I traveled to Slovakia last year, Bratislava, Kosice, Zilina, and also took the trip through the mountains..I think that's a beautiful country but in some areas very undevelopped, I saw some gypsy villages, some really bad areas in Bratislava which is not a beautiful city. I think that this country can do better but on the othe hand Slovakia doesn't have a big potential comparing to Czech Rep., Hungary or Poland. As fro tourism I prefered Slovenia.

I've been to many countries and I think you may be right. Slovak girls are exceptionally beautiful. Sweden and Norway also have beautiful women but everyone knows that already. Czech R is good for pretty women but Slovakia is better.

There has been some criticism related to the opening notes in the text presented by Don LaFontaine: "In the world ......" Some people find it to be too much of a Hollywood cliche.

But they do not realize that this was intentional. Further we can hear: "..... the real fairy tale." Therefore I think this text is pretty well balanced in terms of its purpose given that it is hard to deliver more information within such short time. I doubt any can find a better text for this video with same effect.
