i occasionally get neck spasms when i wake up in the morning maybe due to bad sleeping posture...will u suggest a remedy on how to relieve these spasms fast...usually it lasts for about 3 days for me...i look like my s stuck on one side u know...
Don't forget to lengthen the spine and align the neck to become more upright. Balance the head atop the shoulders, ears above the shoulders. Once this position is achieved, let the sternocleidomastoid neck muscles pull up the clavicles and the sternum. The chest will rise allowing one to bring in more air, lifting the shoulders. Adding your exercises will help of course. I'm happy to see that many videos are directed toward fixing posture. It is a priceless entity. Grace and poise all!
thank you so much, I 've been suffering from neck pain, chronic tightness on my neck and upper back and sometimes even strong headaches... I thought it was a tumor but I am realizing is head forward, with an x ray the doc told me my neck is straight and need some exercises to correct my neck muscles.
@TheYaom I wiosh I could stay away from my laptop but i work in media and online marketing and HAVE to be on my laptop. But i have started to do yoga and pilates. And will definitely do the "Neck and Shoulder Postural Exercise". Thanks for your reply.
@TheYaom stand up and move around every hour..... that will help you
Do you have lots of upper back pain, shoulder, headaches? because this is classical pain from people suffering from computer overuse, it becomes chronic like mine!
@Kaytiger This is not technically a stretch. This is to help strengthen the muscles in the upper back and neck (primarily the trapezius, rhomboids, and maybe the levator scapulae)...try listening to the guy, he says that in the very beginning. It's an isometric contraction. The only stretching occurring is possibly in the chest and anterior delt and would be secondary to the contraction.
Im glad that this exercise has worked for so many people...I am 6 foot 4 and weigh 142 pounds. I have reccurent shoulder subluxation in both shoulders.....but my bone structure in my chest has many bumps in it....and i have neck, shoulder, and back pain...I had surgery november 5th of last year on my right rotator cuff and it had failed!! please someone help me fix my broken posture
I love it ! I actually felt an instant improvement. Thanks so much we throw our heads about so much that I am constantly cricking my neck. This is now a part of my daily routine x
could any1 tell me the exercise to make neck stronger. i m 5'8 with nice body shape. everything is perfect apart from my neck. it doesnt suite on my whole physic.
my neck tends to lean forward to much and i have been looking for the right exercise to get back into good posture hopfully this does the trick. Thanks.
I've had constant pain between my shoulder blades that acts up every few weeks and causes terrible pain, this has been going on for years. I tried this and the pain actually went away. It's been gone for over a month. Thank you so much!

Weightlifters focus on "how many reps???!?!?" too much. This isn't a set shoulder exercise station, it's a stretch! Common sense Geeesh

It's working. Did it like you said 8 times a day, had a bad stiff neck next morning all day.
But felt better as each day passed.

why would it take 5-10 mins? one of them takes 3 seconds, so 8 of them would take 24 seconds. Or how many of them should you do to improve?
