i used to kill "mappy" every weekend right after damn near spending all my money on "dragon's lair" and "space ace"!!! journey's video game also got major play back in '83-84!!!!
Fantasic! We used to hang out in london's west end on friday nights. Leicester square, China town and soho. I used to practice on defender and asteroids in my local pizza shop during the week then take my latest skills up to the west end at weekends to challenge the guys with the high scores. Good times. Now I have a full size old school defender arcade machine at home. Thanks for posting dude. :)
Brings back memories of the arcade places I went to growing up in Chicago. Aladin's Castle in Downtown Chicago and QuarterFlash, an arcade place right by Union Station. Thanks for posting the video, arcadeshopper. Beautifully done.
The best social gathering and entertainment ever! When systems and consoles were young, these were the bad boys that ruled the gaming era during the 80's and early 90's. When a 25 cents was well worth it. 25 cents was for many things such as arcades, a pay phone, and bubble gum. I remember chewing gum and playing Galaga for countless hours, while my mom did her shopping. Thanks for sharing this video.
Very cool video; it really takes me back. I miss the days when the cool hang-out was the dark, loud, neon-lit 80's arcade. Galaga, Star Wars, Tron, 720 Degrees...so fun.

I sooo want to start my own arcade with just the classic games from the 80's... I'd keep the games all at 80's prices too!

It's such a shame, back in those days, I had to be supervised by an adult. I could never get to play the games I wanted to as a kid.
