  • sunteti niste prosti!

  • get BEAVER

  • i would imagine there being an exaust

  • The exhaust is through the drilled-out centre post of the CD spindle.

  • Its a great video, im actually making one myself, but still i had to laught when you said,

"It is spinning... thats a good sign!"

  • Um.. Why Won't it Load?

  • Hey lol! I had that same problem! I think I am going to plug it with hot glue all around. I just wish there was a way I could still take it apart afterward...

  • It's true that the cover to spindle base is a more-or-less permanent glue job. It's best to test as much as possible first, before the glue decision! I've tried using an o-ring seal and rubber gaskets, but it didn't work so well! (i.e. I got real wet...;)

  • @MrfixitRick

    Reversing rotation might work ;)

  • Water? Wood? Cutting?

    Better off getting a Beaver.

  • You're right...I haven't had a beaver for a while.

Seriously, I did invent a backpack gas-powered device for girdling trees, called the "L'il Beaver'. It has a chainsaw chain wrapped around a cone as the cutting head and takes big chunks out of tree bark to kill weed trees.

Not half as much fun as running a magnetically-attached Skilsaw blade powered by compressed air and CD's on a CD spindle, though. (See my PumpkinCutter video ;)

  • whats the point?

  • Just cause it's fun to play with a turbine and rotating magnetic fields. I've had a Tesla CD Turbine in my sink for 4 months, used it almost every day and love it. I teach students with it and amaze engineers. It's won contests and been in magazines. Not too bad for a bunch of CD's and magnets!

Check out the later SinkScience movies for more info, or check out the CD Turbine web site at cdturbine(dot)com.

  • LooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooL !

  • Ah the beautiful Canadian forests. I'm guessing your in a western province? B.C. most likely... It's just not the same over here in Ontario.. :P

  • one of his other vids you see a 'telus' cd.

  • This reminds me of red green show for some reason...

  • hey, my heroes!

  • are you in canada?

  • yes I am. Why?

  • Bob saget?

  • yes. wikipedia says he has "edgy" humour!

  • ? I was saying you sound like him.......

  • what about the interest of your fingers brother lol love man keep posting your videos charliemawwie

  • Everyone's interested in my fingers. Gees, I have more important body parts! If the blade separated from the magnetic coupling at speed it wouldn't stop at fingers. However, the blade video is mostly for effect; The turbine and magnetic coupler with blade worked way better than expected and I managed to film it. Oh, and lived to tell the tale! Doesn't mean you will, so don't try it.

  • i compleatly agree. a finger can be re-attached, which i know from experiences but others cannot. ps i love your videos.

  • take care with your fingers!!!

  • yes, I took a few chances with this device, I really didn't think it would be able to work so well!!
