    @NeKuFuRu tempura is a fluffy, flour based batter. Not a bread crumb coating.

    I would assume its a ceramic knife; It could be plastic, but it's a damn good plastic one if it is.

  • @leaneeres Its a ceramic knife, usually shown on late night television. Its supposed to not need sharpening and all this cool stuff but once they become dull you really have to toss them out

  • @199510111011 I noticed that too...but technically Americans are the weird ones for calling them 'pickles' since pickling is the process while the edible object being pickled is a cucumber. For example, pickled eggs, pickled pigs' feet, pickled vegetables are all listed process-object.

  • @Azianchick123 Shrimp tempura is actually another kind of dish all together using a wet batter. Tempura is often eaten alone with a dashi and soy based sauce, or maybe with noodle soups. Ebi fry is made with bread crumbs, usually served on cabbage like seen in the video with tartar sauce, tonkatsu sauce or mustard, they aren't the same thing.

    Ebi fry is made with bread crumbs whereas shrimp tempura is made with flour. Imo the tempura version is better, less oily.
