  • Awesome !

  • Err... no disc drive?

Sure in the beginning, every console is based on computer hardware (I guess) but how to test software on it?

  • @MegaManNeo Every console well there first form(prototype) was acctually cartrige based systems because they could store more on a cart but it cost alot to make the carts

  • @MegaManNeo In early development, the Gamecube was actually a cartridge based console.

  • @ITSRIIIIDGERACCERR Well, that's something I didn't knew yet.

    Thanks :)

  • wow this was shitty

  • Is it also a PowerPC unit?

  • where can i get a dolphin? i want one please.

  • Dang.. I would not want to buy the Gamecube if it had looked like that...

  • @Geno11116 actually it is a prototype gamecube called the dolphin

  • it the thing a fricking pc!?

  • Respond to this video... wow! how much are those?

  • @MaryStewart Lol this thing should be called nintendo game rectangle

These are ultra rare no one would sell this

he used to work for nintendo probably

  • I remember using a unit very simular to this but it didn't have the same controller ports. The controller ports were pretty much phone jacks if I remember correctly.

  • @TheBroz Those are the alpha half speed kits

  • @ASSEMblerEX whats a half speed kit?

  • @ASSEMblerEX Do you have one of those?

  • @kargaroc386 No, I don't I've never been able to get one though I know someone who has one.

  • @ASSEMblerEX Oh, okay :) Is there any pictures of it?

  • Any chance of seeing it in action. I'm curious what that in line skate manual was all about ?

  • The dev units were made for testing, they didn't need to look like the final product. Usually, they contain more options such as buttons to make an artificial fatal error and tools to test.

Dev units of Nintendo's consoles are the confidential property of Nintendo though. It's illegal to own them.

  • I saw them on ebay for a while but there all gone now, they were selling at $200 each I think

  • I didn't know the gamecube looked like a PC in it's alpha stage. huh.....

BTW awesome BGM! May I please have the audio's source?

  • man this makes me feel so old

  • ... game pc?

  • I'm soooooo glad it wasnt that big.

  • @KartKing4ever lol, yeah cause then it would be just a little bit smaller then the xbox! lmao.

  • @KartKing4ever thats what she said

  • @SpartanForgeWorld300 Why would she say that?

  • Shame the systems could make more of an impact on the gaming scene...it was only 2nd powerful to the original Xbox..but in terms of sales both the systems paled in comparsion to the might of the PS2....

  • does it play gamecube games or does it have its own hardware

  • Dude my friend got a dreamcast game that came with a little fill-in card. On the card out of "Which consoles do you own/ want to purchase?" it showed the gamecube as the Nintendo Dolphin!

  • Oh golly that is neat, where do you find these neat little trinkets and how do you find them?

  • Dolphin was the code name for the gamecube during the gamecube's development

  • Z...O...M...G

  • Awesome bit of kit, thanks for sharing ASSEMblerEX :)

  • What year was this released? I'm guessing 1999 earliest but I could be wrong.

  • *faceplam*

  • LOLLOLLOLLOL

  • OH WOW. No...it's a devkit, it's what is used to make and test GC games...

  • you said they were going to "release a custom pc" this was never going to be released. This is for internal use only. The gamecube BEAT it? This IS a gamecube. Wow. Did I even CALL you a child? NO.

"Looks like Nintendo was gonna release a custom PC with some extra controller slots, ugly shit. The GameCube definitly beat it. " No where did you say "it's a dev kit" you thought they were going to RELEASE this.

  • @Dark4Vendetta

do you realize are you are sounding?

  • @brickman409 what?

  • @GarthMcCreery

    typo lol

  • Comment removed

  • No going around it, it's right there. You typed it. So it's not me being able to interpret what you're saying, It's me not being psychic. You're not smart enough to type what you mean.

  • Um wow. You said "looks like they were going to release a custom PC" no. You thought this was what they were going to try to put in stores. I'm not "assuming", that is what you typed. If you actually knew what this was, you would have typed that.

  • You truly area retard arent you

  • so let me get this straight, gamecube IS the Dolphin?

  • @SpiritTheWolf1 yeah in fact it is that's why you can read DOL on the underside.

but the DDH had use streaming games I think because I haven't find out yet what it boots, could be also the NPDP carts wich are around $250,- each.

the NPDP console was one of the first real gamecubes but I think it's still DOT

  • @SpiritTheWolf1 yes just as the wii is the revolution

  • @GarthMcCreery And DS is Nitro (NTR).

  • @GarthMcCreery and the 64 is well....... 64

  • @majora170 don't you mean "Nintendo Ultra 64"?

  • @GarthMcCreery i guess i was born in 95 so i didnt hear about it like you probably did
