I was actually quite disapointed at Blue Dragon, but I still have my hopes up for Lost Odyssey. As far as I can tell Sakaguchi has given more attention and time to Lost Odyssey then Blue Dragon.

yeah blue dragon sucked,they went for the cartoony look in the hopes that it would make the 360 sell better in Asia but it ruined it the gameplay wasn't up to much either, but this looks awesome, i think

Umm..... If Blue Dragon was so bad why did the limited edition Blue Dragon xbox 360 core systems were all sold out in Japan?... Mistwalker wanted to satisfy the cartoon anime based fans (Myself and many Japanese fans of all ages) with Blue Dragon... Mistwalker came out with Lost Odyssy for fans who like very deep story lines and grown ups for story characters (Amarica) I will be getting this game... cause after a great game like blue dragon, I cant wait to play this game........

i do beg to differ... Blue dragon was quiet bad... not dissing your opinion here but i found the story line of that game to be surprisingly lacking, even for a japaneese RPG... Now dont get me wrong i am not anti japaneese because i do enjoy some manga and the occational anime series... but that game was horrible in terms of storyline and the graphics where quiet horrible as far as games go cause nothing about it was next gen... I honestly found it to be quiet lacking really...

Indeed, the future of RPGs is looking very bright. Both the PS3 and the X360 will be filled with amazing RPGs. But I believe that the Wii will also have some very good RPGs considering Yasumi Matsuno (director of FFXII, FFT, Vagrant Story) is going to make an RPG for it.

Oh yeah, I am definetley excited about FFXII considering the creator of FFT and Vagrant Story is making it. As for FFXIII. I don't know. The game interests me, but I am not really excited about since it is being made by the same people that made FFX and FFX-2.

The same "people"? It's made by Tetsuya Nomura, who yes, made FFX and X-2, but also made VII and VIII and the Kingdom Hearts games, so it's hit or miss. Personally, I'll probably be buying a 360 just for the JRPGs and Dead Rising, but a PS3 for other JRPGs. And Wii for my Nintendo fanboyism. :P

Not exactly. FFX and FFX-2 was made by Motomu Toriyama who is also directing FFXIII. FFVII and FFVIII was directed by Yoshinari Kitase. For all those games Tetsuya Nomura was only the character designer, but he also helped out with the story of FFVII and that's it. KH and KH2 were the only games Tetsuya Nomura made and now he is directed FF VS XIII.

Well, he contributed a large part storyline-wise. I was a little misleading, he didn't make the games themselves, but I view things more as the story. Which makes me phail. But yeah. You get the picture. Either way, XIII will probably be good, IMO. I look forward to my RPG-filled future. Never before has there been two major consoles with RPGs on them since the PS1 and Saturn.

Think you Sakaguchi did not make all of the best Square games, he did not even make some of the best. Sakaguchi Left Square in 2000 after that Horrible CG movie that had nothing to do with FF. Thank you so much for Clearing that up for these Newbs.

Well, to say that this is trying to copy or isn't going to be as good as the Final Fantasy Series isn't a very fair judgement. The founder of the FF series designed it and the composer for the original series Nobuo Uematsu wrote the score.

That's cool man. But I don't think that Lost Odyssey is trying to be like FF even though it is being made by the key developers that made the FF series. To me Lost Odyssey is a very original game in which the only thing that it has in common with the FF series is that it's a RPG and that it is being made by the FF creators. But you have to admit, if there is anyone that can make a better game then the FF games it is the original FF creators themselves.

I never said it would be a bad game, looks like a pretty good rpg that I will probably buy but I think it won't beat FF sorta how other games have tried to be legend of zelda/Metal Gear Solid and etc... but never could.

Thanks, but I guess in isn't a big deal. I am looking forward to FFXII as much as I am looking forward to this game but there is not need for someone to hate the game just because it seems like it's competing against the FF series or because it is on the X360. Oh well, their loss.
