Oh, isn't she lovely to talk to, not to mention being an incredibly good singer. I'd love to see her in concert because her live performance sounds like a great experience. She puts so much of herself into a song. Why isn't she a huge star?

I've been a jazz fan from birth...seen many of the greats within my lifetime,and she does it for me! Hers is a contemporary take on the 'jazz' idea...yes, heavily influenced by 'pop' , as we ALL ARE since the 50s and 60s...but no less valid! She can swing, scat ,be sultry...Jane , don't be intimidated by the past! Some jazz fans are so stuck in it!

I can understand why there are negative comments here.

She is obviously musically knowledgeable, and she has a soothing voice, but her style is sort of...corny.

She does sound like a pop singer posing as a jazz singer. The heavy verbratto sounds forced, and the little inflections of the voice at the onset are reminiscent of most pop singers.

I think that is what people are reacting to when they say it sounds fake. It has to do with the singer's level of taste, not talent.

She is very beautiful and sexy but she has not style. She is a girl of her time: just a pop singer. Real jazz is another thing. Listen to Sarah, Ella, June Christy that you will understand what I am speaking about.

Even she was a bit heavier she still looked gorgeous, elegant and stilish. She is an exceptional singer and tehre is nothing "fake" about her.

Why would anyone say she was a fake? She's totally the opposite - so natural. Such a great singer and so beautiful, even though she used to be quite a bit heavier than she is now. I love her version of Overjoyed, which you can hear in this interview.
