cuckoo in the morning

I loved waking to the cry of the Cuckoo birds when I lived in a small village in England many years ago.

It's not too bad, actually. I recorded this one in the place where I live, 20 km away from Brussels. It keeps returning every year and it gives us quite a lot of pleasure!

I love the sound of the cuckoo - a sure sign that the wintry months are over!

Pity the cuckoo is a bit of a mean bird - putting its eggs in other nests etc.

I sometimes see a cuckoo in the distance - but it is a shy kind of bird that you seldom closely see. This is part of our garden, but I would prefer loneliness on a granders scale: mountain, woods, mighty rivers...
