  • My ex-flatemate Peter did the animation for the Jonsi Live tour & DVD. I watch this when I miss him as i'm sure many others do. He was incredibly talented, I was honoured to live with him for a while. His creative mind was incredible. I see his spirit in this clip.

  • Everytime i listen to this i can feel a white light shine from the depths of the city of Dublins soul and with it, it rises like an earthquake cleansing the souls of every Man, Woman, Child, Animal and Plant nearby. Suddenly its gone and all that is left is this beautifal city, all is silent, all is stunned, all is forever grateful for the peace and beauty that we fail to see around us evry single day....Thankyou Jonsi, You have opened eyes!!

  • I can't stop crying. I don't know why.

  • many times I wonder if this is reality or not. if he can expresses these things, is because these things exist? or is him a liar? i trust jónsi feels what he does, then this living feeling should be real, and now, I'm and alive and strong, at least until the end of song...

  • Stunning. Just Sublime.

  • Hoppipolla, Grow Till Tall, Toyboy, Stokkseyri....it might have different names....Jónsi is a genius, fact.

  • even though that was a live performance, it could probably go down as the best music video in all of existance.

  • I'm alive and kicking

    greetings

    ossy

  • - надо на сигур ехать

    - ваще не вопрос

  • 4 people arent truly living life

  • What is this? What a contrast I love it!!!

  • Love this song. I have Lupus and on those days that I cannot even phathem how I am gonna get through it, my sons put this song on and dance around our living room like lil butterflies to lift my spirits. Thank you for a lovely song and hope that one day we will find a cure.

  • Best Jonsi Song

  • @16gordo16 It drags out too much. Album version is where it's at

  • that gorgeous sound. It's barely a voice.

  • Nice! Im 53, you pretty much have to hold me at gun point to attend a concert but given the opportunity I'd really love to see Jonsi live !

  • I'll click that like button ten million times over if it can bring me to meet Jonsi in person

  • LYRICS: <3

You'll know, when's time to go on

  • I was lucky enough to see this live in London. The whole theatre just stood there in silence, most with their mouths open, in absolute awe at what was unfolding in front of them. Truly, in every sense of the word, amazing.

  • you know what would make this better? NOTHING!!!! THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!! I LOVE YOU JONSI NEVER STOP BEING AWESOME!!!!

  • And they say music is dead.

  • This 9 minutes are the best to forget all the terror, all the crisises and to seperate from reality. Great job Jonsi and band. This song is unike. Cheers!

  • I listened one version of Festival and Jonsi hold a note for over 50 seconds (I counted :P). I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

  • @michellemag83 You're not alone. Hang in there, we'll get through this :)

  • @theliberating1 Thank you. It means a lot. :)

  • @michellemag83 this music has helped me through so much. i hope he gets better. i'm sorry. i know what you mean of the clarity and cleansing this music offers...i met him. jonsi. in a college radio station in berkeley...i had so much thanks to give him, an entire monolgue i had written in my mind the night before.but i could only shake his hand and say thank you....we stared intensely at each other in silence for 15 seconds and he hugged me and said thank you back. he knows.

  • @winstonsmithsixtyeig take care. the only other music i can offer you is riceboy sleeps (also jonsi) the dirty three-whatever you love you are. a silver mt. zion-he has left us alone but shafts of light sometimes grace the corners of our room.

  • @winstonsmithsixtyeig What an amazing privilege you had to meet such an amazing man. Thank you for the kind words. I hope that one day I can meet him as well. :)

  • i want a GO WORLD TOUR IN MEXICO!

  • great song. wish the leaves weren't everywhere. Who even thought that would be a good idea?

  • My tensions are eased for sure.

  • I think my brain just exploded from pleasure! Those last 3 minutes were epic!

  • Should probably warn people that they are 50% more likely to attempt group suicide after listening to this as your life will be complete.

  • 30 seconds of uuh....1:05 to 1:35

  • @plasticmetalwood what song of 30 seconds to mars?

  • This guy, Jónsi, is an angel dropped from heaven sent to us to make us see the beauty in Life. The best artist alive right now...

  • If you get really high and watch this, 1:05-1:36 feels like a fucking eternity

  • ... god..... thanks...

  • talk about breath control - performance leaves one breathless

  • It was a shame that Jonsi's concert in Houston was pretty empty, pretty few people came to the concert. I live in Houston but I never change the idea that I live in a cowboy city. The concert was amazing!!!! I hope sigur rus come one day to Texas! I will be there!!!

  • @siggisveiti not only is he a vegetarian, he's a vegan. represennnt! :D

  • well don't rob native americans of their culture and claim it as your own. Otherwise it's pretty beautiful.

  • All I can say is WOW.

  • Ended up crying when they played this in melbourne. Didn't realise till that last note that i'd lost feeling in my body, and i'd been swaying more and more intensely throughout the whole build. Absolutely incredible.

  • music from heaven

  • Jonsi is THAT dude...been looking for a high qualify version of this since I saw him live in Atlanta. Now off to Amazon to cop the dvd.

  • fuck!@

  • I'm in shock...

Just when I thought Jónsi couldn't get any more awesome! I definitely have to see him live now.

  • Thunder. Struck.

I saw this live. If I could suspend time I would live in this moment, for the fleeting quality of time leaves you behind when it is done, and all you want is to just get back there.

  • this is any only video iv actually seen with 0 dislikes, lets keep it that way lol

  • What an incredible man he is. A mind blowing performance & video.

  • If this guy start a sect I'd be in it...

  • He is Gay.....

  • @BREBOYDE and the Sky is Blue....

  • @BREBOYDE so what? ^^

  • @BREBOYDE What does his sex life have to do with the tea in China? I'm straight and I appreciate the genius of his music.. it's angelic.

  • I just fucking love this man

  • It's impossible to describe how incredible Jonsi is live. I saw him twice last year, and it was literally the most spiritual experience I have ever had. The man is untouchable.

  • Saw this live in concert in LA last year. Was the single most memorable live performance of my life. Absolutely incredible.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • ear heaven!!!

  • Sublime

  • That song could have been three times as long and been all the more awesome! Even at just over nine minutes I still felt it was like: Intro, Verse, Chorus and over! I loved every minute!

  • I feel so privileged to be one of the relatively few viewers of this video. Hands down, some of the most beautiful and moving music on the planet.

  • Had the pleasure of seeing this in Philadelphia. Never cried at a concert before. But the beauty was overwhelming.

  • Underbart!

  • did jonsi really just hold that note for 30 seconds??!

  • @JoshyB10

He even hold it for 30 seconds and helped to make this beautiful live magic

  • @JoshyB10 Yes, he did.

  • @JoshyB10 Well of course, it's Jónsi :)

  • noise = peace

  • I saw him play at Bestival and Latitude last year. Both times after the gig I literally couldnt move. I was in awe. And you could see everyone else was feeling the same. Was dead silent after, incredible.

  • I like that this video has 0 dislikes.

  • @dab2burns I was just about to comment that. Thats pretty awesome.

  • Now... I can fly

  • *speechless*

i got shivers..only by listening to the song.. and now watching it? god.. this must be heaven music..

  • soooooo fan-fucking-tastic!!!!

  • fucking amazing!

  • When I saw this song live, I literally could not stop smiling. I think everyone must have thought I was on drugs, cause that goofy grin just didn't go away until the song ended.

  • 1 word: EPIC!

  • just i close my eyes and breathing...

  • This made me cry when I saw him in Glasgow, an experience I will hold close to my heart forever.

  • Saw this on Halloween night in Atlanta at the famous Tabernacle. Have to agree with @wooohoooooo8, the crowd was very quiet at the end of this song, like "Ummm what do we do? Do we clap? What did we just witness?"

  • And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how they do it in Iceland.

  • After they played this song everyone in the Minneapolis crowd was in shock with their mouths dropped (myself included). Basically like "wtf just happened...." in a very good way of course.

  • @wooohoooooo8 I saw him in Oakland and it was the same thing... one of the most euphoric experiences of my life. I just wish the deep pounding of the drums could have been captured better. It was so loud and thundering in person I thought my heart was going to explode.

  • @wooohoooooo8 same here in Berlin ... unable to move afterwards by such a divine space and sound

  • @wooohoooooo8 I'm sure that happens everywhere every time.

  • After they played this song everyone in the Minneapolis crowd was in shock with their mouths dropped (myself included). Basically like "wtf just happend...." in a very good way of course.

  • Experiencing this song live was likely the first instance that I felt both breathless, speechless and weightless at the very same moment in time......like listening to the birth of a galaxy.....epic is only the start of this tune

  • amazing

  • Speechless, tha was so epic.

  • Holy........ shit.........

  • Should warn people that they'll probably end up bawling their eyes out if they watch this. Fucking incredible! How much more epic can this man get?

  • Watching this, I'm truly grateful to have been able to go and see the live show.

I still think that seeing this particular song live may have been one of the best musical experiences of my entire lifetime, if not the best.

  • so, so beautiful <3

  • Man, when those drums start rolling. Best thing ever.

  • Amazing show was lucky enough that they came close by twice. Each time this song made it real hard for me to even breath.

  • The album version is good, but the live version is a masterpiece.

  • What is strange in this recording though is that at around 7:38 the guitar suddenly gets quiet and pops back up at 7:45. Why did they mix it like that?

  • @Gambit1984 Yeah I noticed that too when I was watching my copy. Oh well still blows my mind every time I hear this version.

  • @Gambit1984 It sounds like the bass drops out too, which makes it sound more intentional. Maybe it was just to make the heaviness build up again.
