That's pretty incredible! I mean, its not perfect, of course. He was out of tunes some places, and it was lacking emotion. But he's ten. That's great!
@joschigirl22 You can't expect as a teacher, a parent, or a listener that a child of ten would understand what the piece means. Right now the child is exercizing performance skills he's going to need for when he DOES understand pieces like this. The point is not at all the feeling, but the fact that he got up there to play at all.
Yo creo que antes de tocar obras ya de "repertorio", tiene que trabajar tecnica de las dos manos. El arco se le mueve por todos los sitios, y trabajar los cambios de posición.
hey not bad! but he should learn some stuff before trying this piece. like vibrato. and thumb position. and dynamics. his intonation is def. off at a few spots. but not bad.
ehhh... yeah i agree with u he really does sound a little flat and on t he high pats could use a little more practice... also really doesn't flow... it doesn't feel like he is enjoying it... hmmm oh well... keep practicing tho... few more years and he might just get somewhere
The main problem that I see with this kid, like every kid prodigy who can play stuff like this at such a young age is that it sounds flat. I get the feeling he's only playing it, and not truly understanding what the piece means, it doesn't flow from him, it's too stiffly learned. That, and he really needs to work on his intonation.
huh, i'm a suzuki "kid" myself! What are a lot of suzuki kids like then?
But hey people, he's only 10 years old.. He sure has many things yet to learn but this was good enough for someone who's only 10 years old! In another 10 years he'll be able to make this piece sound way better ;)
You all who would insult and seriously critique a 10 year old are terrible people. I bet none of you were at his level when you were 10, so how dare you critique him like that?
Be kinder. I'm sure you can find it somewhere in you to not be such assholes...honestly.
It's always easier to criticize other's performance. He is a 10 years kid and is not exaggerated during play. He is very good. We don't have to always compare cello players with Yoyo Ma or Du Pre.
The question here is..how do YOU play? What's your problem you people for being that agressive to a 10 yr. old. I think some of you got some personal issues.
He's toooo young for this great piece. He's not bad but you can't play this piece like this!!!

Terrible intonation and lyrical depth. He added no vibrato. I don't somebody of his age or level of skill should have performed.
PhilipKettler 4 years ago
Wow, your such a bitch to say that about a little kid
Jericam45 4 years ago
Don't worry about it, his teacher likes him very much. As I know, his teacher didn't beat or blame him.
crystalyeh 4 years ago
poor intonation. there are plenty of 10 year old who are better than this. i think his teacher should beat him more often.
