and how many seconds did u get thro a day on this?

  • wow that is soo amazing!

  • nice vid

  • man, you know, you can't find many people who can make an actual story with claymations!

you are one of the best!!!!!

please, if you have time, can you give us some tips on our movies?

  • Thanks so much! Yeah, I'll check out your videos soon.

  • HAHA! Yeah, Calvin and Hobbes rock!

  • that ogre needs to build a tank! that wil show that snow ogre who's boss!

  • whos voice is ogre's?

  • The same guy who composed the music, Martin Mayer

  • nice vid!!!

  • Excellent! Great Job!

  • it's the attack of the deranged monster killer snowgoons!

  • dude i want to make stop motion animations with Lego and clay what type of equipment should i use?? (i.e. camera, microphone, programs)

  • awsome! youve got your own mini type studio thing

you will go far if you continue with this

  • thats r8 cool

  • i want to know that to

  • how did you get the snow balls to stay in the air

  • mostly just a simple string of fishing line holding the clay ball in the air. I swing it back and forth when I take the picture so it blurs out the fishing line and just shows the flying clay snowball

  • how do u do to eye movements?

  • usually it's just a matter of moving the pupil (a blop of black clay) a little bit each frame. The eye itself doesn't roll around, but with the pupil moving it looks like it.

  • Humm... You use 3 different types of clay. Have you used plasticine? I believe that's what Van Aken modeling clay is.

  • Yep 3 types, and Van Aken was one of them. The Van Aken clay is called 2 things, one is Plastalina, and the other is Claytoon.

  • Thats so cool!!! I can all your clay figures on that desk!!! and even the one with all those teeth and stuff! WOW

  • Wow you're good at this. I do claymation too, you know. But it's not as good as this!

  • awsome!

  • man how you make that the ball is in the air

  • Haha lol that was cool, and soo well animated, :D

  • what clay do you use and where do you get it

  • In this movie I used 3 different types. The snow was just a lot of a less expensive white modeling clay, the green clay for Ogre Alan was Van Aken modeling clay, and the snowsuit, scarf, carrot nose, branch arms, snow-cannon and mostly all the other small things were Sculpey III

I got it from just a local art store and from Micheals

  • good job!

    keep up the excellent work.

    Kudos~

  • i shoot at 24fps

  • That was great!

  • how many frames did you use in this film?

  • not sure exactly, but most of the animation was shot at 20 frames per second

  • Really 20 frames per second you said 15 per second was smooth this must be really really smooth!

  • You are pretty amazing...I hope to get as good as you some day

  • Me to

  • Hey Dan.

It's me Darksbane. It's been a reeeaaall long time since, I've seen your animations. I've always been a fan though, and Winter Attack never gets old. It's probably one of your most creative and cleverly animated movies. (I remember seeing stills of your animation set). I've said it some times already, but you're going to go far man.

Hope to see movies from you on the big screen someday.

    An old fan,

    -Darksbane

  • what are those other models on your desk for, and where can I see films with them in?

  • Hey, they are various characters from other films I made. Most can be seen throughout my youtube channel and my site mackproductions dot net. The red monster with a huge mouth and the red duck are from a music video I contributed to for the artist Daniel Johnston. It's finished but can't be seen online yet, I'll show it on my site when it can.

  • great!!!

  • hey, great stuff man. You'll definitely stand out at scad if you keep up the work. Glad you liked my film too. If you have any questions about animation or scad just send me a message.

    eric

  • Very enjoyable. The animation was great, and smooth. Most of all, you did a great job on the snow. I really felt like it was snow. Congrats dude.

  • incredible. you need to teach me.

  • that was cool

your an inspiration to all clay makers!

    (like me)

  • who is this Martin mayer guy? do you know him (i mean have you met him)and if you do he's really good and acting and music writing.

  • thats the best youtube claymation i've ever seen thats awsome

  • nice, just a quick question, where reversing videos what software do you use?

  • Great Animation. 5 Stars worthy. Keep up the great work.

  • cool

  • this is amazing

  • you are a pro. that goes without say. but wasn't that claymation intro where it says Mack Productions done backwards?

  • Thanks! Yep, I made that intro backwords. I do that a bunch with my animation work, like with Become 2 I did that with the chair making itself and with the table rising up.

  • yea you told me about the table and the chair. I'm gonna do a whole claymation about 2 mins long of cool stuff and I'm gonna put it all backwards.

  • an amazingly good film, i must have watched it 5 times now

  • Amazing job, I love this video, I watched the version without the intro over and over. Keep up the amazing work. This is very inspiring! Hope this gets featured!

  • Thanks man, I appreciate that. Yeah that'd be great if it would get featured, I'm not really sure how it would go about doing that, but just hope someone from youtube sees it and enjoys it.

  • try sending a message and/or e-mail to youtube, and attach the video. =) nice work!
