The power went out. In March, it's very rare for thunderstorms to be present. Even in summer, where T-storms are common, it's rare for the power to be knocked out. I just happened to be lucky and lucky further as I had my camera recording at the time.
I'm about 200 miles to the west of that area (Fargo). I actually forecasted this - lots of snow from snowstorm after snowstorm, and a quick melt later in the year was likely going to cause flooding. It seemed inevitable....
Crazy stuff, U-bro. I remember hearing about South Dakota getting 40 inches! Though to be honest that sounds like a bit much. But from the crazy weather you seem to have just gone through it's not sounding as far-fetched as before.
Not even precipitation? Weird, I live in NH and there common here to, but snow has died down for spring already. Anywho it could just be a warm and cold mixture front already(witch is still kinda rare), after all it is spring. But what do I know, i'm no weatherman!
grow up? waste of space people that say grow up normally need to grow up themselves. Let me guess your that twelve year old in middle school who thinks you're so much more mature then your peers :P
Cool video man. A healthy change from hours of grinding in Final Fantasy for sure.
I really like to see where your interests lie outside of FF leveling (don't get me wrong, I like your video game videos, but RPG stats in particular are boring to me)
That's awesome, Ulillillia. You're actually kind of lucky to receive a thunderstorm this early in the year. Thunderstorms are one of my favorite parts of summer--nature showing its' raw power. They're scary, but exciting at the same time. I live in Pennsylvania, so we only get these in the summer, albeit we get plenty of showers in winter.
In North Dakota, it's still not that unusual to see snow clear into early May. On top of that, this year, we've had a lot of snow - I've got photos on my site in my most recent update that shows this.
Sure I may have the same latitude, why do you suppose that the UK doesn't get much in the way of snow when they're quite a bit further north in latitude than I am? The answer is ocean currents. What does this have to do with Germany? Germany is pretty much in that same relative area so the warm ocean currents are likely heating it up, preventing (or at least reducing the amount of) snow. Germany is only a little bit to the east of the UK, about 700 or so miles (1100 km).
it thundering right now here in northern indiana, dec. 31, 2010. the earth is doin some really wierd stuff these days....

Ah, I see. I'm not used to see something like that in Germany. Well, at least most of the time.
