I just got to the last step of prying the glass away from the frame and ended up ripping the home button cable in half!! Nowhere in this video is the home button even mentioned. Evidently it was stuck in the front glass face plate and didn't come loose while I was pulling it away from the frame. BE CAREFUL OR YOUR PHONE WILL BE UNUSABLE UNTIL YOU GET A NEW HOME BUTTON!!!!! Please make mention of the home button in this video!!!!

just a word of advice...it might seem simple but i made a mistake of putting the tape on the glass but it was also attach to my home button and when i took off the glass and steel housing...i rip the buttom from the connection..and now my phone is apart waiting for a home button from amazon....

@z3ro1984 I took it to a repairer and he thinks the problem is in the connector on the mother board and needs to be sent to china to be fixed properly...

I did an insurance claim in the end.

I purchased a few OEM touch screens to replace one of my friends screen whom she dropped and broke it. But it does nor have the little brackets it's just the glass screen.

Can I do the same thing as you would with an iPhone 3G or 3Gs and just heat up the screen so the glue can loosen up and remove the glass to replace it?

@mattnrhondy I just did one and had the same problem. I had to take it back apart and scrape the paint off of the upper back part. You will see what mean once you take it apart,it's a tiny oblong oval under the ear piece. about this in size ( )............ its for reception. Hope this helps
