Right now I'm in a MIDDLE SCHOOL production and I bet my own life that we can sing better than this. I play Yertle, and I kick this Yertle's butt. (I mean she wasn't even singing!) And my friend plays the kangaroo- SHE CAN OUT SING THIS CHICK without one bit of effort. This honestly was terrible, no one can sing at all. I seriously hope this improved by show time.

But honestly, I don't think there was any excuse for that. They even had the BRODWAY RECORDING while they were singing. It's the easiest thing to do. Middle Schools should not be underestimated. I'm positive Middle Schools can be just as great as High School performances, perhaps even better. Just for the fact that they are in a lower grade states that they cannot have a powerful voice. I myself are in 8th grade at the moment, and I know quite a lot of people in my school who have Very Strong voices. Never underestimate someone who is merely young. We may surprise you.

They weren't professional singers. They tried their best: I was there. Yes, they were off key but they hadn't attempted a musical before so give them some slack people! I know people in that class.

yes, but if you look at other high schools' productions of this musical or any other musical, most of the kids can at least carry a tune. that is not the case here. they are bad. trying hard doesn't necessarily cut it.
