Instead of lip synching so perfectly to Della, why don't you take some singing lessons at college to attain that bluesy, rock style of hers-- its totally attainable. The same with all of these crossdressing performers at gay clubs-- let us not walk around the periphery of life but take steps to attain a worthy goal by taking approximations toward it-- Im sure you have a nice modern rock voice!

Well here is the deal. I, in no way, think that what I am doing is art. I just like to procrastinate by making stupid videos to make my friends laugh. Yes, I could take voice lessons and learn to sing with all the soul that Della Reese sung with. However, I am veterinary student and there simply isn't time. Believe me I am working towards a worthy goal. I don't know how you can possibly know my voice quality through this video. I will post something and you can judge that.

about 5 years ago I was in the breakroom at work and the radio was plced on an oldies station and a song came on that made me stop and listen and appreciate the voice. I listened on and was taken by the voice. I had no idea it was Della Reese. You see I only thought about her as the actress on that touched by an angel show that i never watched. Well, since then i have listened to her via youtube. I will now buy this cd that u say this song is on and bye bye blackbird. You did a good job, thanks.

I used to have this album, and I played it all the time. This is my favorite song from that album. There is also a fantastic version of "Bye, Bye, Blackbird" on it. It was recorded in unique circumstances, in a studio, but with a live audience. They literally went out on the street and dragged people into the studio. A lot of the people probably had never heard of Della before, but quickly "got down" with her, and really rocked out.
