  • wow, John Roberts, calm down.

  • I *hate* how these talking heads laugh at the idea that a free market works, or when they suggest that capitalism is to blame. What we have in the USA currently is not free market capitalism, and we need big business and big government to get the hell out of our economy and out of our lives.

  • Dude, I love the 'stache. Nice job bringing back the '70's porn star look!

  • he just made cnn very happy

  • Barr, you make me sick! You called for Clinton's impeachment before you got busted by Larry Flynt for the same damn thing you accused Clinton! When is the Lib party going to stop housing rejects from the Democrat & Republican parties and find a real candidate that can win? Who's next to join, John Edwards?? Sen.Mike Gravel should have won the nomination. It is disgusting that Barr became the nominee and this is why no one takes the 3rd party seriously anymore!

  • How the hell Ron Paul ended up in the Reppublican party and not the Libertarian party I do not know.

  • It was the only way he could get anywhere near a national platform. =/

  • Yeah but I'm sure the Demo's would have shown him more love.

  • Frankly, after all I've seen and heard, I don't give a damn who becomes POTUS. You Americans are about the DUMBEST PEOPLE ON EARTH!!! You're so lazy and selfish that you'll allow these Republican and Democrat politicians sucker you so bad with false promises and double talk in every election while the Libertarians are right there saying what you don't want to here. You don't deserve any freedom. You deserve only what you're about get.

  • Mr. Barr, I think you are right on most of the issues. But you've got to realize that the liberal media is using you as a tool to assault the republican campaign.

You've got to know that there is no chance the libertarians will win a presidency in this 2 party system and as a result this simply helps promote socialism.

IMHO the way for the libertarians to get a president in office is to do what the socialists did; put a socialist in the democrat party and drive him up.

  • default013 - ... and that socialist's name is Barack Obama. LOL I'm just kidding of course.

  • You're exactly right. Google "obama dsa", "obama new party". (that is if his current ideals aren't convincing enough)

  • i really hope he can get 5% of the vote and put the party into a good position for 2012

  • If only newscasters could interview Obama and McCain this way instead of just third party candidates. If only Obama and McCain could answer as directly to the questions like Congressman Barr did compared to their usual ignoring the questions and delivering their memorized soundbites....

  • Man he is the best man for the job!!

  • LOL he wuz in borat!

  • i want some corn dogs bitch

  • It's a shame Barr had such a massive lapse of judgement, blowing off Campaign For Liberty's third party press conference. It would have been great if all of Ron Paul's support could have gotten behind one candidate...

  • Barr just has to be President!

  • Bob,

Do simulcasts during the O'Cain debates answering the same questions on YouTube or CSpan, or any other network that will allow it. The time of blacking out other points of view is over.

  • Kick ass and Elephant.

You know who to vote for 08'

Truce to Republicans and Democrats agreed???

    Lets fix it American style...

  • Are you tired of this shit yet?

    Vote Libertarian.

  • Why hasn't the Community Reinvestment Act been repealed?

Why aren't Federal authorities going after people in the same manner they pursued Martha Stewart??

This housing market has been heading down (actually, this market is great for those that SAVE money) since 07, it was only after the Bear Stearns bailout that the house of cards collapsed.

(My father, 90 years old, did not believe in ANY form of Debt or Credit. Purchases all homeS up front with cashier's checks)

  • Barr has started to make a lotta sense lately.

  • THIS IS WHEN YOU

    VOTE LIBERTARIAN

  • Yeah! Bob Barr you're the only President for me!

  • Barr for PRESIDENT!

  • This is what I dislike about modern journalists. If I was in Barr's place I would have said flat out. "There isn't a short term solution for this problem. It's going to take year's to undo the damage that government meddling has done." That's what the real problem is here; looking for a short term fix without thinking about the long term cost.

Yay universal health care, because it's a short term solution but in the long term there will be rationing and waiting lists.

  • MRLArkin, agreed 100%. Artificial loosening of credit got us into this mess and now with the bailout thats exactly what govt's trying to do again. They haven't learned a thing.

Tight credit is a natural market tendency and a part of the business cycle (extreme in this case), but eventually a cooling off period will get the markets back on track and lending will resume.

That's not going to happened now. This problem has just been stretched out thanks to Washington.

  • Bob Barr '08 Get the Government out of my life!

  • Hmm. The Bailout passed. And it still didn't help anything. We go farther into debt, with nothing to show for it.

The Politicians should have listened to Barr!

  • Bob Barr for President! Just voted absentee this week!

  • Epic fail. No mention at all of the federal reserve inflating the economy through ridiculously low interest rates. If McCain is a moderate republican then Barr is a moderate libertarian. I really hate my choices this fall.

  • He sounds like Cleveland from Family Guy.

  • People would rather vote for McCain because they say he can win, as long as we vote fr who we think can win rather than ho is the best person for the job we will never get anywhere.

  • 3rd party!

  • He ends with "I promise we will see you again soon" to Mr Barr-lets hope so!! no matter who you are voting for its good to get a voice that sounds different in the arena- Mcbama is a sh#t sandwich- different bread.. not really -different meat... not really and it taste the same-like sh*t - I prefer the taste of liberty love Ron Paul but he's a douche for endorsing the wrong guy-lets hope the NRA doesn't fag out on our Hero !! Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!!! -MachineHEad

  • Bob Barr is certainly better than McBama, but I'm afraid he hasn't earned my complete trust yet. Paul has a much better understanding of economics so I'm going to be writing in Dr. Ron Paul come this November.

  • I'm not sure if it's different in different states but from what I understand here, a write-in for Ron Paul isn't going to be counted as a vote. So therefore I'm voting for Bob Barr. I agree with you than Ron Paul most certainly is better though.

  • be nice to get bob barr and ron paul on the same ticket. maybe bob can get ron paul to be his running mate.

  • I know. We need some people that are competent enough to run this country instead another four years of broken promises and more lies

  • I would like that pundit to tell me what Obama or McCain have said that even remotely resembles a plan of what to do about this economy.

Even if they did try to give one, it will be retarded because they were both big supporters of the bailout/free money for the

big boys out of the pocket of the people plan

  • Change, Hope, People, Hockie Moms, Lipstick, One of Us, Reform, etc.

  • Maverick.

  • You're absolutely right. I'm not voting for either of them either. :)

  • Good try Bob, but your understanding of economics leaves much to be desired. I'd like to hear Ron Paul answer those same questions.

  • Bob really did whop that plastic pundit!

    Love seeing that happen.

  • The smug ass on CNN tried his hardest to get Bob Barr to squirm, but Bob Barr did not flinch. I'm seriously considering having my vote go to the Libertarian Party's Bob Barr! Great job!

  • Barr did good. He might get some flack by some people for not sounding too specific, though.

  • keep 'em on their toes bob!

  • Clinton & Dole agreed in '96 to keep 3rd party candidates out of the debates, disgusting!

It should have been: McCain, Obama, Barr, Nader, McKinney, Baldwin, (and special guest Ron Paul)!

  • Ron Paul should have been the moderator!

  • Always has the right answer on the fly.

  • excellent interview Mr. Barr

  • Right on the mark, as always.
