  • The really smart African Grey, whose name I don't remember, was working on the word "seven" about the time that he died unexpectedly. I think that was a hard word for a parrot to say, not having teeth or lips.

  • @hebneh Parrots don't really even use their mouths or tongues when they talk. Most of the sounds they make emanates from an organ in their throats called the syrinx. Bibi is able to talk and whistle perfect fine even when her mouth is full of food or if she is holding a toy in her beak. The fact that she moves her beak at all may just be her mimicking us humans!

  • @hebneh I think you mean Alex, the African Grey?

  • bibi is adorable!!!!!

     sincerely,

    reroudine

  • Did you hear about that Japanese parrot that got lost? It recited it's address and house number AND name to the police who found him! xD I think his name was Bibi, too! xP

    This was adorable. 5/5

  • Yes! Isn't that an amazing story?! I think his name is Yosuke. I'm glad they taught him so well, but I hope they don't lose him again! (We keep Bibi's flight-wings trimmed so she can't fly very far.)

  • Yes, it was! I can't imagine how lucky that was that they taught that bird their adress. Maybe it was on purpose? Probably they let him fly around outside, and in case he flew away, he could tell people where he lived. xD That's clever. It's a cheap dog-tag! xD

  • She IS so smart!

  • Thanks! She seems to enjoy performing for the camera.
