Cool, the water dissolves the alka-seltzer in the oil and the CO2 and the waler is released, lift the food coloring and dropping it back down. The oil was so that the food coloring won't dissolve in it. with the tbsp of water was enough to dissolve the alka seltzer, but not enough to dissolve all the food coloring

I don't think closing it would be a great idea...unless you added a small vent hole or something but then, with it being small, might build enough pressure...then all the fluid will find that hole and WHOOSH! big mess!

The bubbling lasts a couple of minutes, then can be recharged with more alkaseltzer. The oil and colored water lasts basically forever.

Yes, you can use baby oil.

I think I used blue and red. They mixed very early on.

u can use Baby oil as well so u dont have the yellowish color, but i think vegitable oil is slightly thicker than baby oil so vegitable oil make work better.
