Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good)..... A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
hehe yeah i heard that quote somewhere, i don't remember where, but i thought that was, if true, just about the best last words anyone could say, because they're going out with a laugh ^6
ok i said this on the last video but it seems more appropriate here, so: I heard on his death bed he looked up and looked at the window and said "those curtains are atrocious, either they go or I do"...and then he died. It's kind of darkly funny, and it would be nice to think he said that, since he had a fantastic wit, for this or any time.
I have saved hundreds of quotes. Most are more serious, and a lot are about religion and atheism. Many quotes from Ingersoll and Bertrand Russell, a couple of my favorites on the subject.
LOL I always enjoy listening to you. You make me feel right at home after a rough day when you need a chuckle. Outside of a book a dog is man's/woman's best friend. Gotta love Groucho. :)
Thanks, Kaspar. I read a book of his when I was in high school (lo, these many years ago!) entitled "Don't Call It Frisco." I lived in the Los Angeles area, so didn't see a lot of him, but I appreciated his style. I was studying journalism at the time.
I would rather live 50 years like a tiger;

I really like the politicians / fleas quote, I'll remember that. Here's one that I've always liked -
"88.2% of statistics are made up on the spot", Vic Reeves.
