  • Great Truth,We came into this world not to learn to live, but to learn how to die, often times we are sad put of it

  • one of the songs that remind me of my dad.......r.i.p. daddy....you will be missed but never ever forgotten.

  • Sad song, but beautiful.

  • Nobody does heartbroken like Merle Haggard. He could probably make me sad singing the phone book.

  • This is one of the truly great songs by the Hag; I always thought he was one of the "tops" of Country Music.

  • Merle will always be my choice of music while sitting on the boat...a fishing pole, cold beer and Merle, it dont get any better...

  • how do es 1 make a new playlist

  • Nobody does it quite like he does.

  • OUCH - this just hurts all the way to my toes. My wife passed away almost 6 months ago. Maybe someday I can listen to this song all the way through, but not yet.

  • @HalfFastChevy so sorry to hear that. I hope you have family and friends to just be with. Not talking, just space and time to grieve and heal. Sometimes life seems so hard, and it is not an easy thing to even move forward- but just an hour at a time then a few hours, then a day. When I went thru my divorce years ago, I had a couple of friends that I could just sit on their couch and cry or talk or whatever I needed. I hope you have a support system too.

  • problem is I think i've found it

  • Nobody can make you feel the pain like the Hag. And Janie Frickie harmonizing ain't no slouch, neither! Together, they're tops.

  • old country rules . I dont even listen to none of this new stuff

  • We have all lost the one who we thought would be the one for life. I always thought she would be with me, time proved that wrong and she married another. This song just sums it up perfect.

  • This is how country music sounds,Thank YOU

  • @headedhome Amen to that! Great song.

  • Oh...wow...one of the most powerful voices that has ever been borned!!! never will be another one like him!!! love him. ;)

  • willie had the title, and freedy powers told merle to write a letter, how he felt after the divorce of wife 3 leona wiliams, so he did and freddy helped out-

  • I've always been a huge Merle Haggard fan since I was just a little girl listening to him with my Daddy but I just recently ran across this song. It absolutely breaks my heart because it's so similar to a situation I'm going through right now. This is just another song among the many that proves that the Hag deserves his legendary status. ♥

  • Hey how'd Willie get his name on this one!!!

  • Modern "country" music sucks so bad that the chimps that listen to it would think this song is awful. Where did Nashville go wrong? Somewhere between the lust for acceptance and the surrender to a quick buck philosophy sad, soulful, strong story, cut to the bone country music has disappeared and seems to be gone for good.

  • THE HAGG IS GOOD THIS SONG ONE HE GOOD I SEEN HEM EL PASO I WAS IN THE ARMY AT FORT BLISS TEXAS T.L.C JONESBORO. ARKANSAS

  • Hearing Merle sing is like watching a great film to me.

  • @dcolosio -- perfect way to describe it. You can practically hear that phone ring and see him picking it up!

  • Amen, char4him99, we just have to move on, this makes me cry, my husband died and I miss him so much

  • @maxi1049 I know how you feel, I lost my husband 6 years ago and I hate to say this, but I don't think it gets any better. I still miss my husband , you just have to live 1 day at a time. This is a great song by Merle. lwalker65

  • @lwalker65 i realy need a place to fall apaer

  • Gee, I wish that Merle, Waylon, Johnny, Ray and Willie would be more "New Country" they could take a lesson from some of the young bucks of the new Nashville sound! NOT

Anybody that DISLIKES the NEW "NO FEEL" so called country music of today give a like to my comment!

  • @pickyricky1 I've always said that "new" country was more pop then country and I think we can thank Garth Brooks for that. I do like Garth but I wish that he didn't change what country was supposed to sound like. The true country that I like is only found on my CD collection now. Don Williams, Bobby Bare, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, these guys are what it was all about. I'm only 29 but even I know that Nashville needs to be flushed out. True country is still alive, it just not recognized!!!

  • @pickyricky1 The so-called new stuff they call country....is "NO" comparsion to the old country .. at least with the old country you can hear the words and make out what the song is about

  • @mike1409040 You bet Mike. These are REAL stories about about REAL life situations. Not every situation in life is great. That is life. Glad you liked my comment! :)

  • just 3 words , "The reaL deal, "

  • I'll Prob'ly Never See You Eye To Eye A-gain

This Letter's Meant To Be My Last Fare-well

But You Need To Under-stand I'm Nearly Crazy

You Need To Know My Life Has Gone To Hell

Write Me Back And Tell Me Why It Ended

Send A Letter That I Can Show My Heart

I'll Be Somewhere Between I Love You And What You're Feeling Now

Lookin' For A Place To Fall A-part

  • I love this song! Looking for a place to fall apart since Stephen left..

  • sometimes i am scared to listen to this song---might cry for hours

  • My dad used to make me listen to Merle when I was a kid and wanted to listen to KISS and the sort. After a while I started to get it! This was good music. I wanted to learn to play guitar like Roy Nichols and grow up to play with Hag. I lost my father to suicide 5 years ago this December and today would have been his 61st birthday. So, here I am listening to this wonderful music and looking for my own place to fall apart. Thanks for the post.

  • i really like this song

  • Thanks for the country Merle. Please come back to Arkansas

  • Always loved this song thank you for the post, you cant beat the Hagg.

  • I think this is my favorite song done by Merle - he is one great singer!

  • i was thinking of all the misery ive brought on in my life. man, how many times have i looked for a place to fall apart. god bless merle.

  • I am so sorry. Those are such hollow words. If given the chance, you would know.

  • country music at its best

  • my favorite song by merle

  • this song makes me cry everytime I hear it one of my favs of Merle

  • went to see merle 1 6 10 st george utah ,nothin but the best.

  • Man, I love this song, but Merle's music became my 'sad' music after my divorce-it's been years now.. so I can't listen to him long --just get too sad and dwelling on the past.. Hard as it is, each of us have these sad pieces of ourselves and sometimes you just have to keep moving forward.. Truly we only have THIS moment.. There are no guarantees of tomorrow and we can't change yesterday. So I choose to live in the moment, to follow the light and strength I am given for today.

  • @char4him99 Lighten up lady - if "it's been years" - then you are not, living "in the moment".... If you need something to cheer you up, then listen to some Delbert McClinton... "One of the Fortunate Few", or "Room to Breathe", should do the trick....! W'Dan

  • @wastefulldan lol thanks for your input. At 53 however, I think I am entitled to my sad music once in awhile--If you don't look back once in awhile and reflect you can't really appreciate where you are and also where you are headed. I'm not giving up hag just because sometimes it brings out some sad memories.

  • @char4him99 Keep your chin up Buddy!

  • @char4him99 Thank you . That was perfectly said. Going thru the same thing and Merle's sad songs really help.

And thanks for the post hrtmike.

  • @char4him99 Well said

  • @char4him99 amen.

  • @char4him99 Man that was well put my friend. I know that you, and as wrote many others have felt or are feeling this pain (such as i am now). Some how what you shared helped me a little. So thx Dude!

    Regards, Randy

  • Ok, Michael jackson and Merle Haggard should never be mentioned in the same sittin. Country Legend and pop... wierdo... not cool.

  • Merle is very hard to cover. I tried and posted my attempt as a reply. I only had an acoustic guitar. Thanks for viewing.

  • Merle and Janie, It does not get much better than that.

  • When i received this song it broke my heart..tonight I listen again and the tears fall . We have all been looking for a place to fall apart..and it hurts when you can't find it

  • I totally understand how you feel. I'm, also, still searching. Good luck to you.

  • @diamondswilldoo I'm Right there next to you my friend!!

  • If this song fits the way you feel about michael jackson passing then you must be a child molester

  • I need a place to fall apart. I need proof to show my heart that its over. I need to be somewhere hiding when all the teardrops fall. Hopefully, I will heal someday away from that place that I left my heart.

  • This is one of my favorite by Merle just beautiful. He is great.
