It's something you put your heart and soul into. music is how you express yourself when you can't find the words. It's how you live. So, if you think music is a competition, then that's your problem. Because no matter where you are, not matter how old you are, no matter who you are, you are making music. You are being you and you are expressing yourself. And if that's not good enough, too bad.

@IMACLAUS i play the cello too, and i know what you mean, like... yea its true that she has to loosen up her vibrato a bit, and her bow is also slanted... but maybe you're better at cello than she is, only because you've played longer and have had much more experience... but when you critique someone, i think that you shouldn't be as harsh when you do say negative things about them, and you should at least put in at least 1 positive thing about her

When she does that part where you go really high on the board and put your thumb on the string (around 0:52) she played the last note a bit weirdly (like me, but better!) and it was kidn of obvious on her face that she did that wrong :S But apart from that, it was great. I've been playing Tarantella for what, one month, and I SUCK. I utterly, completely SUCK.

This was such a fun piece to play when I was younger. It still is fun to play now. But when you're older and have more experience, you can see that this song has a lot of freedom to play with intensity, softness, and the likes of it. Putting emotion into it is definitely the next step after nailing the notes.

Why does age matter... It's pretty ridiculous. It is easier when you are younger. You have more spare time. She probably has been playing for years. If you try to start when you are older, you have family and work to juggle around. She doesn't. I guarantee you anyone starting playing at age 6 or 7 could play that by age 13.

thats because its the over all hardest part in this piece. Very rapid notes, and thumb position(a position where the thumb rest on the string, very difficult) make it ridiculously hard to play accurately. it scares the crap outta me and scared the crap outta my lesson teacher for a LONG time lol
