@TheWestRyders That's a little misleading, the output from the camera is 720p. I exported from Final Cut at 1080 (if I remember correctly) because I wanted the highest quality but I completely forgot that it shot at 720 so it did't make a difference.
Can I set the Fokus (for "extreme close-up") in the videomode and also in the photographymode maually?
I have to buy a new camera for my great hobby photography and it's very important for me, that I can set many Settings manually. So I found this bridge camera and I wondered, that it's so cheap.
@whoisrikk1 i have problems focusing from time to time, it all depends on what kind of light you're in with this camera. for me, well lit outdoors usually give the camera no problem with focusing, although indoors even with decent lighting i have problems with the autofocus :(
I bought this camera and I can say it is a very, very, very good still pictures camera but not so good with videos.
I suspect this camera doesn't take the videos with a real 1280x720 pixels frame. I guess there is some internal digital trick which processes the real 640x360 pxs and enlarge it into the final full frame.
Just my idea, of course. But you can try to see the videos at half size and you will see a very good and better image, so...
it's a pretty good for the price. and there are many settings on the camera from both scene mode and a lot of manual/custom settings. great HD. i heard there is a new version (s2100hd), but honestly it's the exact same camera. so don't spend the extra money.
nope. you can only change the lens on an slr camera. this camera is a little bigger, but it's still a point-and-shoot camera, which means you can't change the lens. but since it's bigger, it does take better quality photos
I'd say the image quality is actually a lot better than the HD video. Some people say that the image quality is not that great, but the only reason they say this is because they don't know how to use the camera the correct way in the first place. The camera has a lot of different scene selection settings which makes a very big difference in picture quality and makes it look a lot better. You just have to make sure you know when to use which one :)
Yep, it zooms in very nice while in HD video and just as clear as photos.
The autofocus does work well when objects are close to the lens, unless they are closer than maybe 1.5-2 feet, then it gets a little blurry when zooming in very close but it can still pick it up most of the time.
1080p????

Do you have focusing problems when you start a movie to shoot? I have, if i don't zoom, the image is very blurred.

Do you know if Zoom Option available during Video HD 720P ? ?
msrd6816 2 years ago
yup, but it does not zoom in as close as when it does in photo mode.
also, the autofocus is actually really good when you are zoomed in on a subject and keep a steady hand too.

Nice video - scene looks beautiful. Never seen that much water frozen up before.
BTW, can the S2000HD focus on close up things during video?
Like if I wanted to film a bug or my phone's screen, does the autofocus work well enough for very near objects?
Thanks
Thanks
