  • This is the real Gloria. What a great find! was this from her own 1960s local NY TV program? It certainly looks like something that was broadcast locally as opposed to nationally. She was just like this in real life right up till the end. A Great Dame.

  • Such a lovely woman with so much talent. The history of the movies and knowledge she had, we are fortunate she could share it with us. A very strong woman and not afraid to take risks with here career. One of my favorites.,

  • Such a fantastically elegant woman. I loved her in Sadie Thompson.

  • can someone do a translation into Italian of what she says?

can someone give a brief summary of what she says in English? Please I do not understand English very well

  • What a gorgeous woman. She must have been 65 or so here, and I would take her to bed happily. I say this in a respectful way.

  • @cuttock

  • This is a Lady of the World....and the jewels are real.

  • You know you see all these modern stars today in holloywood Agilina joile etc... but no one has the class and calabor of the original stars of holloywood. at least in my opinian

  • @atlan61

I totally agree with your every word!

  • Such class, such elegance. The woman was a goddess they simply do not make refined beautiful woman like this anymore.

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! This is fantastic footage! I love to hear recollections of Hollywood's Silent Era from those who were there. Ms Swanson was not only lovely but a very intelligent and articulate lady. She was into "health foods" LONG before it became fashionable. Her late 70's/early 80's autobiography was a JOY to read. THANKS for posting this cool clip for us to enjoy!!! :-)

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you for this wonderful segment! I just watched the film and this narration was very helpful to understand what went wrong with the whole idea! Thank you once more!

  • @rommanos

Oh you're so very welcome! I am glad it helped you to understand more about what messed up with the production. I wish it could have been completed...

  • @rommanos @rommanos Do you happen to know how am I able to find the "swanson ending"? It exists somewhere (apart the "KINO" vesion? Thank you again!

  • @rommanos

    I wish I knew, dear! I wish I knew! :(

  • Why on earth were they using Stravinsky's "Ragtime" as title music? Bizarre.

  • Why on earth were they using Stravinsky's "Ragtime" as title music?!

  • What an amazing historian!

  • In her autobiography Gloria says Queen Kelly was Joe Kennedy's idea.
