Well ive only watched Case closed and I havent really watched Detective Conan, but basically Conan's shoes are a device made by Doc, and basically hes already really good at soccer and stuff and with those shoes when he kicks stuff it like gets super charged with kinetic energy or something, and it flies really fast and far, and usually hurts if you make contact with it haha.

In short.. he kicked the shit out that ball. xD

As for recommended episodes: u must watch Shinichi's 1st case - 162, 170-171 is funny coz Conan gets jealous when he thinks Ran fancies the young doc Araide-sensei, 176-177 - relly gd Black Organisation epi, 189-193 is where Shinichi transforms back, he tries to tell Ran his feelings but ofc the drug has a time limit. 230-231, 258-259, 266-268, 271
