  • So much plastic waste! All those petrochemicals will probably kill five people for everyone saved.

  • what does he give along with propofol to stop stinging?

  • @ozdenizz I believe with propofol they use lidocane and dilute it to stop the stinging, im 17, learning to be an anesthesiogist lol :)

  • He should do a video of an actual case

  • I like how he say OUU! LOL

  • i am pre-med with no physician or anesthesiologist shadowing so i do not know if this doctor is correct or wrong, saying that someone is going to get the grades in pre-med then get accepted into med school do a anesthesia rotation before graduating then graduate. start their residency then argue with the instructors about how they are not doing it like the guy in the youtube video ? not likely,,, i like the video because it gives me a brief understanding of what drugs are used nothing else

  • nice video but I have to add some comments. First of all the entire video length we seen a man who fills up serynges, not as spectacular.. and ripping the seal of the OTI tube was a mistake. That will go in one's lungs witch is a clean enviroent. both the intubation tube and the suction tube must be sterile or you increase the risk of pneumonia in admited pacient. I simply guess that this was a demo and not a real pre op prep.

  • the most common mistake smart people make is thinking they are smarter than everyone else. why insult, just watch the vid and thank the guy who spent the time to make this

  • @socal1000 it is important for all to highlight the mistakes done here otherwise they will simply be repeated. Imagine if one junior rezident started duplicating the medicine shown here simply because it was taught be a more experienced phisician.

  • @bomberfun1 I totally agree!!!! This guy is a total mess!

  • You all should be lucky that they are fast with their hands like this, because if something goes wrong, they've only got seconds to get it right.

  • @bomberfun1 Yes, since that is an essential criteria for being a good doctor..............

  • @bomberfun1 lmao true

  • Yeah i love this video too as i am into the pharmacology and all medical subjects so i find these type of videos really great. I dont like the way that Americans call drugs by their brand names where as in Britain we use the generic name which is more procise. For example Americans talk about things like xanax and valium and ativan etc where as they should say alprazolam and diazepam and lorazepam but it's no big deal cos they are the same drug just differen brands.

  • In my country, we use 'M99' to induce and 'M5050' for reversal. Simple.

    :)

  • yes, that last one burns as it travels up your veins! kicks your butt, but burns!

  • haha what a happy anesthesiologist this man is in his preparations.

but then again I'd be a happy man too if I was making at least $200,000 a year too ^_^

  • Im going to school for the same exact thing .Allthough he might seem sloppy im pretty sure this guy has done this lord knows how many times and he probably just established a routine that might seem very "sloppy" but yet hes probably well aware of the dangers and risk and he maybe only doing it this way for this video

  • Thank you for making this video, its very interesting, im hoping to be an anesthesiologist. i was a mechanic before going back to school and this reminds me of how i place all my tools on the tray before starting a job, but yours is MUCH more important. i cant wait to learn all this

  • what a slob! this guy is so damed sloppy that he must be a nurse (CRNA)! no anesthesiologist would be so sloppy! unlabeled syringes=he's a drug addict and leaves his "patients" screaming as they are transferred to recovery. this makes me sick

  • @grendel130 - He had no face mask on, no glaves when handling one of the drugs; he was chucking the contents about; and the room that he was doing this in does not seem the be the correct place.

I wanted to be a doctor, and this is the type of thing that would put me off!

  • @grendel130

you dont know what your talking about LOL nurses arent sloppy are you even IN THE MEDICAL FEILD AT ALL???? caouse if not you need to practise what yo preech!!!! he probably wasent even going into surgery he was just probably showing us what he does I dont know of any one that draws up drugs IN HIS OFFICE!!!! it was probably just to show us!!!

  • @stephvetsch1 If this was just for show - then let me tell you this, every time you fill a syringe with meds, you are not allowed to put it back into the bottle. You have to dispose of it completely! If this was only for "Show" then this guy just wasted very expensive meds on nothing more than to show off. What a total waste! This guys needs to be retrained ASAP! Jennifer - Harvard Medical School.

  • @jenn606 LOL Harvard? More like hollywood upstairs medical college. You are clearly not a medical student nor ever will be. Keep boasting of your non-accomplishments troll.

  • @futurion2 you find that jennifer is wrong ? I could care less about her medical school but she's right witch is more than I can say about your comment.

  • @Daniumfcv shut up you braindead wanker. enough with your drivel, it's clear that your spelling ability barely reaches the 3rd grade level.

  • Very, Very Sloppy!!! I bet you treat your patients in the same manner as you prepare your cart. Slamming and slinging meds and syringes all over the place!!!! SLOPPY!!!

People out there who are watching this vid should learn to stay away from this guy!!!!

    Jennifer (M.D.)

  • @jenn606 Thank you very much!

  • why do you need a paralizing agent and how long dose it last?

  • @wiccanme82 So the patient does not move during the operation.

  • uh oh he got the propofol out i wouldnt want that in my system i would be scared

  • Dr, do you think 36 is too old to start medical school to train for this? I've just decided this is what I was borne to do...

  • Go for it!!

  • Tremendous amount of responsibility...no thanks.

  • dr you are funny ahahahahah

  • CRNA's do not work independently, just like a resident physician, they work under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. The more difficult or complex cases will almost always be turned over to a senior/chief resident or attending.

  • What??? in US CRNA perform anesthesia on their own? no way .

In most of western european countries things go differently .Thanks god

  • CRNA's have responsibility too, and it weighs on them because if they mess up, they will be liable just as much as doctors.

  • "theholyname"-actually I have several friends who are CRNA's; I just don't want them doing my anesthesia. Patients need to know that they have a choice: anesthesiologist (MD) or a CRNA (nurse). My medical background far exceed that of a CRNA, but that's of no concern. Having an anesthesiologist is a matter of safety. Maybe all nurses should have their anesthesia done by CRNA's; then they could be mutual cheerleaders.

  • Jerryjohntson, what exactly is your "medical background" ? You have spent the past few days watching different anesthesia videos and ripping the same story about how you hate CRNA's. What hospital did you have your procedure done in? Botched LMA? Do you have an irregular airway or other restrictive problems? I am not a CRNA or a person who chooses CRNA's over a physician but it just seems silly that you go around to handfulls of educational videos of Anesthesiologist MD's and promote your hatred

  • he phillip: great comment; I'm sure that my medical background qualifies me to comment. A CRNA almost killed me; my anesthesia should have been simple. but a nurse (CRNA) couldn't handle it.............many of us aren't cheerleaders for CRNA's

  • i can understand how you feel, but you don't understand everything.

  • if you need anesthesia, get an anesthesiologist not a nurse (CRNA).....if this guy was my anesthesiologist, I would find another practitioner

  • What cc was that syringe that you used for propofol?

  • thanks for the demonstration doc.

  • WONDERFUL video.

    I am also left handed.

  • same here.

  • go to fresh gas flow (one word) dot com

  • I love your great tableside manor. Being left-handed myself and holding the pen same way that you do...does make it a lot easyer [sic] to write on test tubes and that sort of thing(s). The elbow on the table stuff does not do it for me...sorry Pres. Obama. Do you like Lidocaine with your Propofol?

    Carl

  • this video was very interesting, thanks a lot. I'm a freshman nursing student, aspiring to be a Nurse anesthetist

  • where are you located? how far are you into your journey?

  • hahaha sounds like they typical doctor.. please place more up because im a Jr. in highschool and my career project is anesthesiologist and im afraid it will be too hard, so please show some goods and bads

  • I hope he knows what he is doing, does that all go to into the persons body for an opration? all the meds? that is alot.

  • to sleep, to maintain sleep and to wake up, yeh you need all that

  • wow absolutely amazing now i know for sure what i want to do. working with your hands , mind and heart

  • could you imagine keeping a patient asleep for 24+ hours during an operation?

  • This is so very interesting. I give you my thanks for posting. ^^

I'd love to see more of this soon. It's really defined some of the smaller protocols of being an anesthesiologist.

  • j'aime la médecine saurtou L'anesthesia mask

  • Hey MR.BookofJoe can you show us more please.
