  • I wonder if I can put a game boy color emulator on it

  • Can it graph a 2 variable function?

  • does it devide by zero?

  • will this DD to DMS??????

  • is this calculator only for graphing or can it work with algebra (perenthesis, numbers and letters)??

  • but will it blend? :D

  • Be warned this calculator doesn't have a computer algebra system.

  • how many channels can this get, and can it play blu-rays or just DVDs?

  • @NewHamOnTheAir lmfaoo it also displays 3d and records and 3d and sends txt

  • Hmm, and this is only $20 CAD more than the TI 83 Plus, which all my teachers recommend over my older Casio. I think i'll go for one of these.

  • hooray now we can have calculator porn just what the world needed :)

but in all honestly I have to agree this calculator is meant to challenge the 83's and 84's and is better in most ways but is not quite at the level of my ti 89

  • Best review so far but I still haven't seen what this does better than a Ti89/86? The color and screen display seems to be the biggest selling point. I think all graphing calc should have color (it's 2011) for obvious reasons but this calc is more than $100. The display is nice and fancy but the design seems to be for high school students. I like Casio's easy to use platform on the lower end models but I think I'll pass on this one.

  • best for engineering student

  • lol ill take the walkman

  • does this do 3d graph????

  • can i use it in my SAT?

  • holy cow, this is brilliance

  • So how do we put games on it :D

  • it is easy to cheat teachers by this ,, yehooo

  • WOW a colour screen!!!!! How innovative!!!! :L

  • TI is nothing but an overpriced PAPERWEIGHT! I'm math department chair at my school and I'm getting them for all algebra II and above classes, NOTE: you will NOT be able to use these on any standardized test! The reason I'm getting rather, is that they are an affordable alternative to all students having PC in the class, they are also easy to use (unlike the over-rated TI's). Please don't take my word for it though; find out for yourself (buy one at a store, keep the receipt, and ...

  • @DrowDove3 Actally they ARE permitted on AP,SAT,PSAT/NMSQT and ACT college exams.

  • @aarongzmn Thanks! My students are gonna love to hear that.

  • No, it does not have a CAS.

  • @MyDragonballz123 you didnt, you just want to look like a nerd

  • do most schools allow this?

  • @MyDragonballz123 I don't see why not? Its a calculator.

  • @MyDragonballz123 Next year I'm going to try to get some money for our dept. to make the switch.

  • @MyDragonballz123 All schools, as well as the College Board (SAT ACT) allow it.

  • is it really that hard to enable multi-letter variables/parameters, a proper programming language and preinstalled scientific constants?!?!??

this model is indeed a innovation, but im not really content

  • Finally a challenger for Mr TI 89 to take on :P

  • @intellectable I would definitely buy this calculator over the TI line of calculators.

  • @mjurek does this have CAS?

  • @mjurek

same here, I recommend these over TI calculators, even though TI is focused 100% on calculators and Casio is not, Casio is far ahead of the game. Hardware and software for the TI is far outdated for its price. They're still selling the same calculators they've sold since the mid 1990s, so they're slowly declining in the calculator industry.

  • @mjurek There is new color calculator from Texas Instruments - TI Nspire CX CAS.

10 years after mobile phones color is finally in calculators too ;)

  • @mirezYT I hope TI plays it right. I fucking hate Casio and these nasty fucks that support them with the confusing software that looks like shit my I add to go along with it. I tried Casio over TI too what junk and I couldn't even make a table of a graph without 5 steps and it won't automatically update! LOL! I guess I need the almighty prism for that. My TI-84's just fine, what's the problem, I'm in a low-ranked school anyways and my TI-84 silver is the top there, how many schools can use this?

  • @intellectable

This is NOT a challenger to ti-89,92,voyage... this is a challenger to ti-83...

  • @intellectable no buy the cx

  • @intellectable That depends. It doesn't do symbolics.

  • To answer tkrulez297: The Prizm is recognized by computers as a flash drive, so yes, various files can be loaded onto the unit by simple USB connection. However, the files will only be *usable* by the Prizm if they are in one of the calculator's recognized file formats.

  • pardon me for such a stupid question, but one of my students are wondering if you can play games on this calculator via download on USB? i usually let my students play with their calculators when they completed their tests instead of them using their ipods for games.

    thank you

  • @tkrulez297 Sending files, such as games, to a Prizm using USB is easy. Games can be created in the rather slow built-in language, or assembly. There's approximately one game made in the built-in language released on the internet (and quite a few games for older Casio calculators that are compatible) and approximately zero made in assembly released on the internet (no old assembly games are compatible), but a bunch of people are working hard right now to bring third-party gaming to the Prizm.

  • An extremely interesting calculator!

  • This is greatness!! Nerds unite :)

  • Nice presentation. I like it.
