The captain is Norwegian on the oasis of the sea=). i have been on the boat. the best boat ever. this is the biggest boat they will made because of the bridge in Denmark! And i have eat with the captain on the ship. best vecesion ever.

Ive never been on a cruise (its fun for sure) but i know some peole who worked there for over 10 months. they wanted to leave that ship for years. So dont do it too much, its just like living in a village where your trapped.

The problem with Royal Caribbean is that it is not relaxing and fun to go on a cruise where you expected to take part in some rites of passages in order to be accepted in the sect called cruise passenger.

(1) Why do we want to build a big ship, such as the Oasis of the Sea, but other animal do not?

(2) Why do we love to have so much entertainment and leisure facilities on an transport vechicle?

I mean that other animal do not even dream of building a small boat?

I was having a 7 days holiday on the "Legend of the Sea" The services, the rooms and the food are excellent. The "Oasis of the Sea" is much bigger and withg more leisure facilities.

Not at all. I have the means to cruise on any ship I wish, for as long as I wish and go where I wish.

I don't cruise on any ship that has "for-fee" dining venues other than a reservations only Supper club.

I've over 250 cruises under my belt over 25-30 years....all the oceans and most of the rivers.

I am a cruiser. Not interested in an overpriced shoppingmall/amusement park experience as what is found on Oasis....

I'm also a "cruiser" for the last 15 years. Just beacause this ship is big and offers lots of stuff doesn't mean that it is a shopping mall. The new wave in cruise ship design is to design the ships in such a manner that the ship becomes the destination as much as the ports it visits. Anyone who has gone lots of cruises to the carribean espeacially knows that once you have seen one carribean island, you have pretty much seen them all. Small cruise have their allure as well.

You are right, of course. It all depends upon what one cruises for.

Many reviews that have come back mention how difficult it is to "see the sea"...not necessarily complaining but mentioning that unless you are in an outside cabin or one of the aft suites, you'll likely not see it often.

Personally, I don't think it will be successful in the long run unless they can find 12,000 (Oasis and Allure)people a week looking for that type of cruise..

You would be surprised how many people are looking forward to getting on this ship. As you know, anytime a ship is launched and is touted as "the biggest in the world" flocks of people come out of the woodwork.

I always book an inside cabin (had an outside balcony 2 times) because the price is right. The RCCL ships do a wonderfull job of designing interior spaces with wonderfull views (I an Architect, its in my nature to notice these things). There are lots of other cruise lines who do not
