@TonyMason uhh ya rick is keyboards dave is playing black strat than goldtop on first guitar solo. In white. This was floyds only tour with all 4 on the wall. Shortly after waters leaves
@ VahyaFX i dunno bout most concerts, but i do know its a common belief gilmour used a strat on all songs. However for recording on another brick in the wall part 2s solo he used. Goldtop les paul like that 1 here
I ,M GLAD I HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE THIS,TWICE AT THE NASSAU COLISEM UNIONDALE, NEW YORK FEB 25,28 1980. SO MUCH BETTER THEN ROGER WATER & FRIENDS,2010...
It seems that the camera guys are more focused on Pete Woods banging out "rhythm keyboard" (if you will...) on the Wurlitzer. These camera men probably couldn't get any of the musical cues right anyway. That's probably why they haven't released this footage. You'd watch it and think that the director is off his rocker.
I love Roger Waters' bassline and bass tone... And ev'rything. David Gilmour is one awsome guitar player. And this song is a real ass kicker. \m/ PINK FLOYD \m/
'we don't need no education, we don't need no thought control' - too true. incidentally this song was used as the musical symbol of the anti-aparatheid movement in south africa.
Man, you can hear the roots of rock and roll in this solo by Gilmour -- The BLUES... If you don't hear the blues here, you need to go back to Rock n Roll pre-school!
I'm pretty sure he uses a compressor because the sustains are very clear and longer than the physical response of the guitar. The insturment is definitely Gibson Les Paul and I think it uses the neck pickup. The preamp and amp also make a difference though probably very hard to figure out which ones they used.
I just have one question... It's a good video and all but why did you record the CD version over the real version?? I mean It's quite obvious when Roger is singing when the kids are singing but there's not Roger's voice... That and I'm a guitar player myself I know those solos are not the real solos that David is doing at that exact time... It's the solo done on the CD version
yes rogers mouth is moving at the same time during the childrens chorus, because he was singing it at the same time, it just didnt record it for the audio. The CD is a remastered version of a mix of the earls court show and the LA show they obviously thought that solo was better in the LA show so of course it's not gonna synch exactly the same with the video if you really care so much I'll put it up with original audio (it sucks so bad)
You should post one with the original audio. I know it sucks a lot but that's what's athentic about it. I noticed that people are posting these live videos but recording the CD version over the original audio. I guess that's fine and all and I know that takes some skill to do. But anyways.. thanks man
The CD version was recorded at Earls Court and the show was Earls Court as well. Don't like then, as Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden said it best, "Well, tough s**t and f**k off and all that other s**t you know!"
@TonyMason uhh ya rick is keyboards dave is playing black strat than goldtop on first guitar solo. In white. This was floyds only tour with all 4 on the wall. Shortly after waters leaves
