    GREAT LIVE MIX

    SUBSCRIBE

  • Richie, great guide, I must get around to assigning effects to the wipe pad, as that can produce some great results.

Do you have Torq2 yet? 4 channels now available!!

Awesome for on the fly looping mashups.

    Cheers for sharing.

    Simon

  • does anyone know how to set and use the XY pad @ the top?

  • why not just use the sync....

  • @Firdaush0 because thats for people like you, that have no idea how to dj, and because ur the new gay generation of dj'ing that never touched a technics deck and have no idea how to beatmatch

  • @iSkateBoard10 really well...if you ever saw my channel you would know how wrong you really are.

your arrogance will get you know where in the industry.

  • @Firdaush0 what does making music have to do with pushing a freaking sync buttom?

  • @iSkateBoard10 lol well "making" music is a hell of a lot different from mixing music. I agree the sync button removes a very important element of skill involved with mixing. But some people would rather spend more time sending FX then cuing a track. And if you ever find yourself backstage at a tiesto concert look closely. He doesn't even have to manually synchronize his mixes because it's all done for him before he even plays, what really makes people like him amazing is the production

  • @Firdaush0 lol @ "know where"

  • has got an ECHO effect like the one on djm 800?

  • i just ordered mine I can't wait to get it

  • good tutorial cheers for this one! how do u make the x/y pad the controoler for the filter? rite clik it to assign? like normaly done with the othert orq effects n different options? thanks!!

  • same as a question before. but i was going to buy the VCI 300 because it had a sound card and for it's build but this seems to have more functions , out of the two which do you prefer?

  • This is tight as hell

  • very good ... thank you for this tutorial

  • thanks mann..... tht really did help me make better mix. big up mann

  • well the second knob lets you control the lenght of your loop much more easily then with the quick loop button. You can also use the dry/wet mix change the volume ration in between the loop and the track playing on the same chanel. It makes much better build-ups

  • the thing about that starter A-Team trick is that it doesn't work 100% with all accapellas....I've had a few accapellas that went comPLETELY off kilter when using them at the same bpms...then again VDJ sucks at finding bpms to begin with lol...I'm thinking of getting this controller but I don't want to use real CDJs yet...this is CLOSE and I'm wondering is the M-Audio Xponent a step UP or a step DOWN from the Hercules MK2 :x...because the herc is pretty well rounded even if it IS a bit cheap...

  • After reading alot on both of them. I decided to get the xponent. It just seems alot more user friendly and its software is amazing. Its a good beginner to intermediate/advanced intermediate dj. So you will be able to grow into this basically. It has built in effects which alot dj controllers don't have. I've seen alot of really advanced people use these and kill with it so you can use this for quite a while before you want to move on to something better such as CDJs.

  • nice one

  • very informative thanks. Check out my mixes with the xponent

  • Awesome mix man, I'm buying an Xponent today! the second track is the christian hoff vocal remix of cracked logic's "we dare the radio stations to playlist our record"

  • nice nice. if I had to try out immediately sometimes

  • The repeat amount in beats right. Can you turn that off, and just choose yourself where you put the end marker ?

  • what is the other song you put in?

  • your from the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fucking cool hahaha

  • nastyyy

  • u can just use the looping buttons if ur good enough instead of using that effect up...

  • Very kewl video! Thanx for sharing, DJRichieP!

  • thanks a bunch man

and ktak, it does help in the sense that i hadnt thought about this b4...

  • At 1:52 what is that black flat thing he touches ?

  • xy pad for controling effects using your finger like a kaoss pad but not nearly as good :(

    one

  • @restlesslp, it's the x/y pad

  • What does it do ?

  • it doubles as Mouse Click Left/Right, like laptop. or if MIDI is on, it changes the selection of Effects, if you keep pressing left one it goes forward and if you click right it will go back.

  • I don't think that watching videos explaining different tricks helps anyone to get better at mixing.I recomand to experiment your own tricks. He did and he found some cool ones

  • Awesome! I can't wait for my unit to arrive.

Some people feel the XY Pad a bit laggy... What do you think?

And what's the other tune on deck B?

    Thanks!

  • yea its so cool i got mine the same day it was released(i work at M-audio) and i still dont know how to use all the buttons on it...and yea i hav kno clue what deck b is either....you will hav so much fun when you get urs....

  • legend.

    helped me so much cheers

  • thnx for this man, getting my xponent thursday! been working with FL studio for 2.5 years now and cant wait to do some live action stuff.. this helps me warming up for my xponent (H)..

it isnt that hard to learn is it? i have experience.

  • Is there a loop shifter on the xponent?

  • Not sure ya know. If there is I haven't found it yet. Although, if you set a 1,2,4 or 8 beat repeat and the click on another hot cue it'll go to that cue and start the loop from there so you could in theory jump between loops.

  • im jealous that i never used the ateam track, hahaha, nice tho, loving it, hehe respect

  • Awesome man!

I just have one question, can you do this on a Hercules mk2 / mp3 mixer?

    thanks!

  • No idea, I don't have the unit

  • The repeter effect is actualy a loop...so yes you can do that with the hercules and basicaly any dj software

  • nice!

  • It's a shame.... This unit works sooo good (when it's working) but the quality of the actual unit is nothing short of terrible!! I had 3 that all failed.. The best one lasted a whole 3 days!! This unit must cost them peanuts to manufacture.. If they spent a little more on better quality parts, materials and most importantly quality control they would have an awesome unit. But for now save your money.

  • Sounds like you've had a bad experience. I've had mine for about 6 months and its been used at clubs, bars and at home. Not a problem!

  • Count yourself lucky! My first unit had bad LEDs...2nd unit only worked out of one channel and third unit the platter would bottom out at the lightest touch and not turn! None lasted more then 3 days. To me spending $600.00 on something of questionable quality is just wrong. Technic 1200's are the same price and will last forever. That's quality!!

  • when you dj at clubs what do you carry it in or what stand do you use or case? im currently looking for a case/stand to carry it in and put up. something that'll last and keep it safe if it took a hit. also laptop stand?

  • I've got a bag for the Xponent but I also wrap it up in a fleece to keep it from getting damaged. Still waiting for an official bag! When I get to a gig, I find the Xponent and laptop fit alright on top of a pair of decks with the lids on. Not the best solution but saves me carrying around too much.

  • hey buddy wats better the vci-100 or the Xponent

  • I'd say the Xponent purely because it has a sound card built in. The built quality is better on the VCI100 but you'd need an external sound card aswell to use it, which means the Xponent is just easier to travel with.

  • love ur mixes, can u plz post some more demo's?

  • Gonna try and do some more this weekend now I have the Connectiv, try and get them both working.

  • Is there a way to make it work like a pioneer1000 as setting a cue point is concerned, just pressing pause and cue while playing? I'm confused, what should i buy: this, the behringer, the vestax, hercules...??? Any tips?

  • When playing, if you press CUE it will go back to the cue point and stop. If you pause the music whilst playing and then press CUE it will set the cue point at the paused location. You can also set up to 5 quick cue points throughout each track than can be played instantly by pressing 1-5 on the Xponent.

  • So it can actually work as a pioneer1000 as cueing is concerned. So much thanks helping me to decide buying it. Thanks again.

  • DO NOT BUY A BEHRINGER

I bought a Behringer BCD 3000 and it was faulty and there is nothing but bad reviews for it (except for a few, FEW good ones)

I returned it, got my $ back and bought the Xponent instead.

  • Im a hip hop dj, and im use to the 1200's but recent moved to Torq using the 1200's i LOVE it, NOW im thinking of moving to the xponent. You make me want to get it ! This is wat Djing is about , PROGRESSION and pushing the envelope! NICE JOB RICH ! Keep it moving!

  • the dualfilter is a lot of fun to use on the xy-pad

  • Hey Richie, how big is the Xponent controller? I've tried to look up measurements, but have found none on the internet as of yet. It's a very nice looking controller :)

  • Thats really kool thanks mate

  • Great video Richie. Well explained and everything. Keep em coming :)

  • Exelente video richiee.!!!!

  • excellent demo richie , getting my new xponent tomorrow cant wait to try it out

  • good one, whats the name of the song in the first table

  • great video! cant wait to get my xponent soon.
