regardless, the Janissary was considerd to be the most noble of the ottomans. some muslim pretended to be christian just so their sond could become Janissaries. the reason they chose christians was because they didnt want shias sunnis and nomads in the military fighting eachother. the Janissary was only loyal to the sultan no one else. i mean there is good and bad but in this case the good outweighs the bad. the Janissary's family got the best land and best treatment.
you are wrong man, every Janissary converted to islam had nothing to do with their treatment because they were christians, maybe in some cases but the Janissarys were taken as little christian boys from Bosnia and Serbia and later on converted to Islam in Istanbul , and there were even higher Elite troops than the Janissarys which were the Qapukulus court slaves Turkish mounted or dismounted troops
no you all wrong...janissary not choosen from christian boys, kapikulu soldiers were choosen from christian boys..janissaries are choosen from bektaşis...and its very logical because for example when sipahis (paladins)rebel to sultan then bektasi janissaries or kapikulu soldiers (they were always with sultan, sultans most loyal unit)could stop them..its very logical right, thats the perfection of ottoman empire...and dont forget, kapikulus who choosen from christ, they all were convert to İslam..
@lovelyesra99 christian Children from the Balkans were taken to be soldiers of the Sultan. They were educated in writing, mathematics, and were converted to Islam. Some scholars say that these boys had the best education in the world at that time.Using Christian boys for the Janissaries meant they had alligence to the Sultan, and no one else.
We are the grandchildren of the Ottomans, We are Turks. :D

The Janissary main contribution to modern warfare (and i stand to be corrected) was the use of musical instruments while fighting.
They were the first to really employ military bands and music.

The Ottoman Sultans in many ways continued an old Byzantine practise of having his own elite forces who wouldn't betray him.
The Byzantine Emperors used the Varangian Guard for this purpose.
The Ottomans the Janissary.

ya eventually the sultans were betrayed and janissary's were dismantled

Ceddin Deden march can be translated in English as:
(Seek) Your ancestors, your grandfathers, your generation, your father
The Turkish nation has always been valiant,
Your armies, many times
Have been renowned throughout the world
Turkish nation, Turkish nation
Passionately love (your) freedom
Overwhelm the enemies of your (free) motherland
And make that cursed ones feel abjected

Lyrics
Ceddin, deden, neslin, baban
Hep kahraman Türk milleti
Orduların, pekçok zaman
Vermiştiler dünyaya şan.
Türk milleti, Türk milleti
Aşk ile sev hürriyeti
Kahret vatan düşmanını
Çeksin o mel-un zilleti.
