being a manilan, i think that dinagyang is better than sinulog. sinulog is quite weak and slow compared with dinagyang. and sinulog is like a fiesta demonstration or those of university presenations.

Naaalala ko years back, early 90's or mid 90's a friend of mine from cebu, nakilala ko lang sa radyo radyo, sabi sakin, nag guest daw yung dinagyang sa sinulog. At nagustuhan daw nya yung performance. I think it was tribu bola-bola pa yata. Wala naman problema dun.

when they spotted Dinagyang, they we're impressed and there was a time when they told the city officials that it is a unique event with real essence culturally. now, the city was surprised when we got invited and later granted the award. we didn't asked for it IT WAS AWARDED TO US INTERNATIONALLY FEW YEARS AGO. period and i hope u get it. i have documents to prove it to you. The troop won 2nd place behind Camiguin's solid and strong performance.
Iloilo's contingent did not come back thereafter.
It was even rumored that your troop exchanged heated arguments with Camiguen's simply because your troop did not like the outcome of the result.

Bakit nga ba ayaw ipa-guest ng Cebu ang Iloilo dinagyang sa sinulog nila? I don't see any problem with that. Pare-pareho naman tayong pinoy and iisa lang ang goal natin lahat. Naaalala ko years back, early 90's or mid 90's a friend of mine from cebu, nakilala ko lang sa radyo radyo, sabi sakin, nag guest daw yung dinagyang sa sinulog. At nagustuhan daw nya yung performance. I think it was tribu bola-bola pa yata. Wala naman problema dun.

I have digged into the numerous files and even scanned newspaper files from the police headquarters and public libraries respectively and found out that most of the pitiful and heinous crimes happened in Cebu were mostly committed by non-Cebuanos.
This goes the same with the so-called prostitutes who, I believe, should not be condemned and ridiculed, came from neighboring regions to seek greener pasteur and, thereby, help alleviate the economic condition/status of their family.
