Did you know that Sakura decided that Syaoran's birthday was to be the same as her own, April 1st? That means that Sakura, Syaoran, and Watanuki have the same birthday. Watanuki and Syaoran are also just two identities of the same person? It's like this. Syaoran got his soul replaced in one world or something, and he went to another world. Watanuki was the replacement, and so... yeah, that's about it.

In japan, and in this anime (XXXholic) people are bonded by their names and birthdate.

Watanuki is bounded to sakura and syaoran, who are from a different series but on a special OVA they meet eachother.

Also, april first is april fool's day. Watanuki is a guy with really bad luck, and it's often fooled and suffers a lot but he doesn't give up being a nice guy.That's his theme song.
