I think about Rob everyday. What a great human he was. I grew up loving his music and I continue to listen to him. Say hi to my dad. He knew how much I loved the Grass Roots.
Rob was my first crush at the age of 12 and I have followed him all these years. I saw him in concert 3 times and was great to the fans every time. What a legend. I miss him everyday.
You know Rob wanted the show to go on:he had the best seat in the house. As he watched the show from a better place he probably had a big smile on his face. Still it must have been hard to continue without him so soon, especially for Mark sing Rob's songs. It was a fitting tribute to the singer and a friend. Good going guys! I will keep you and Rob's family in my prayers. RIP Rob you will remain in our hearts and the music will never die.
AWESOME! My Retro Countdown pays tribute to him on this weeks show and in an unrelated matter, the medley of the week next week is The Grass Roots. (Shows taped well in advance, in fact the Rob Grill Segment this week was recorded weeks after and inserted replacing a different bonus track Its on Veetle dot com under channels, music, current and classic radio shows!
This sounds wonderful and I love the lyrics. My God, I did not know he had passed. I guess he was 67 - still too soon. I hope he did not suffer with a long illness; I hope he went in his sleep or quickly. Everytime we Boomers turn around - another soul has left us. May he be wrapped in the love of God.
Wow!!! He sounded SMASHIN' in 1999, Ron!!! His voice 'matured' beautifully! This is a fantastic live version one of my favorite GR songs!! It's as good as the studio version from the early days. Rob is another member of Rock & Roll Heaven -- where you know they have a H*LL of a Band....... Very sad day and he wasn't very old either! 67 --- waaay tooo young! :-(( Thanks for sharing this with me so quickly! Cheri/CCF
Awesome....saw them here in Ohio....I was honored to have him sign my CD ! Most of the rednecks here didn't appreciate them...I did! Love them!
