  • @ironhead319 Only you can read the comments?...Troll.

  • @ironhead319 No, ya hipocryte.

  • @TechMaven ok assclown

  • Considering he was only turned on by female rabbits, Bugs Bunny wasn't homo at all. He was comfortable enough with his own sexuality to play at being feminine and cross-dressing. It's people today that are too insecure with their sexuality and lash out at people who don't conform to gender roles, calling them "fags" or "dykes."

  • "Oh, for shame! Just look at those fingernails! My, I'll bet you monsters lead in-teresting lives. I said to my girl friend just the other day, 'Gee, I'll bet monsters are in-teresting.' I said. The places you must go and the things you must see -- my stars! I bet you meet lots of in-teresting people too. I'm always in-terested in meeting in-teresting people. Now let's dip our patties in the water!"

  • @90eaw you sound like me...quoting the scene word for word!! i love, love, love this one and the hiardresser scene with gossamer!

  • Wow, thirty seconds of credits for thirty seconds of a well-known clip?

    You know better than that.

  • To those familiar with this toon you remember it starts out with a Peter Lorre take on a mad scientist and ends with the mechanical rabbit with the great line from Bugs at the end "So, she's mechanical!!"

  • hahaha

  • The 7 people who disliked this video aren't very IN-teresting people. . . .X-)

  • My favorite of all of bug's 'toons.

  • @themightycelestial

I think that is double for me ...

  • Awwww poor Gossamer. :(

  • @Erekai ...Or is it "Rudolph?"

  • @NCTaikoDrumboy It was Rudolph in Water Water Every Hare

  • @TechMaven Yes, I remember. However, there has been a controversy ongoing for years as to the proper name of this particular WB character. There's the "Rudolph Faction" and the "Gossamer Faction," and then there are those who just want to call him "The Monster" and leave it at that.

  • I quote this scene all the time! Love it!

  • ohh for shame!

  • did you guys know that Mel was deathly allergic to carrots so they had to cut so he could spit them out.

  • Bring these classics back to TV!! I'm sick of the modern crap it's too serious!!

  • LOL! I remember this episode!

  • was he acting like a homo, or a chick?

  • @BeyondNeptune Seriously? you have to ask this question? He was acting like a chick. People now-a-days.

  • @alekbaby1 That's because back then cross dressing and acting like a girl in an acting sense was considered a farce to those that were homosexual or overly feminine... If anything, it's parody that you don't see in children's cartoons anymore... It's really a shame. There's barely any violence, slapstick, cross dressing, near death laughter, anything that makes a farce of certain political or social issue. It's always the same old shit with these newer cartoons.

  • @gums328070. A lot of classic Bugs and others are on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD sets. Caution: these are UNCUT/UNCENSORED cartoons, some do contain scenes that would be considered highly racist these days, along with some characters smoking cigarettes(don't know what you would find appropriate for young kids?). but there are also great extras with animation behind-the-scenes, etc. great for the collector!

  • Is bugs bunny supposed to be gay??

  • @housemonzter No.You should see the rest of the cartoon. He supposed to act gay.Because is funny :)

  • It's "Mel Blanc". If you're going to violate copyright laws, at least get the credits right.

    Idiots.

  • myyyy stars!

  • where can i find these cartoons in full length so I can watch them with my children?

  • My favorites were always when Bugs was with Gossimer or Witchazel. They have crap for cartoons now.

  • @bubbam20 I agree. Nobody does the "witchy laugh" like June Foray, who was the voice of Witch Hazel. She was also the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Dudley Do-Right's girlfriend Nell, George of the Jungle's wife Ursula, and a host of other Jay Ward Studios characters.

  • "Now, let's dip our paddies in the waaaterrrr..."

  • cant i find vids with bugs without shoutings and noises in them?

  • awwaahhhh

    i remember =)

  • love Gossamer. he's such an INNNteresting monster

  • This is my favorite episode, I always get a laugh no matter how much I watched it. They really should put the looney tunes back on T.V or at least a Thanksgiving marathon every year. :)

  • now let's dip our patty's in the wahter! LOL

  • Definitely a classic here!

  • OMG I cracked up when I saw this since I get a manicure all the time!!!

  • "IN-teresting people..."

LOL, Bugs, you never cease to amaze me...

  • interesting LOL

  • This really is one of the funniest scenes in the entire series and notice the sadistic pleasure that Bugs seems to derive from the monster's agony.

It's brief but, if you look closely or pause the animation, he looks ginuinely pleased as the traps smashes the monsters fingers as he screams.

Somehow that makes it even funnier!

  • One of my favorite scenes... and I've sometimes used the term "patties" over the years... hmmm.....

  • LOVE it! Love it! Love it!

  • My stars, I was saying just the other day to my girlfriend, that Bugs Bunny certainly is an INteresting rabbit.

  • "I said to my girlfriend just the other day, I bet monsters are in-ter-estin I said. " LOL.

  • I like how he's just sitting there getting his nails done. He's probably thinking 'what the hell is going on?' Major lol

  • I always wonder if Bugs was imitating the manicurist in the movie The Women....."Jungle Red!!..."

  • Now let's dip our paddies in the wa-ter!!

  • LOL this was my favorite part of this episode LOL.

  • I loved this episode

  • What an INTERESTING clip!

  • My stars...

  • interesting...

  • for shame! lol

  • great clip, but it's MEL Blanc....

  • lol this is my fav XD

  • "gossamer" is also known as Rudolph in Water Water Everyhare. "Bring the Rabbit to me and I shall reward you with a spider Goulash

  • xDD I love this one.

"Now let's dip our paddies in the waaateeer!!"

  • Didn't know Gossamer was named...Gossamer!

  • Gossamer got his 'paddies' snapped!

    lol!!!

  • :( Gossamer is my favorite looney toon.... next to Cecil....

  • my stars ! this cartoon is interesting

    laugh out loud

  • It's hard not to feel sorry for Gossamer

  • Now lets dip our patties in the waaaterrrr

  • LMAO!

    My stars.

  • fantastic

  • Since I was young, I've always loved this strange strange cartoon.

    It's innnnteresting. XD

  • thats hungrys dad, lol

  • What an innnnnnnterrrrestingggg clip!

  • XDDDDDDDD

  • lol still funny to his day!!!

  • Myyy stars.

  • hmmm... interesting

  • Mel Blanc was one twisted dude.

  • That's MEL Blanc. Still, thanks for this!

  • I love that red hairy monster!

  • his name is Gossamer :P

  • Oh thanks so much for telling me! I couldn't figure it out. :D

  • sure, i understand why

  • lol i gt this 1 on a dvd i luv this bit now lets dip our paties in the water lol

  • buggs talks gay, ROFL!

  • It just doesnt get old "Im always intrrrested in meeting interrresting people" XD really how many times does he say that word lol. Ty for the upload. Man i miss these they just dont make cartoons like they used to anymore :). (and when i say that I mean they don't make good ones anymore XD)

  • Yes they do. You just don't know any better :p

The entertainment of today > WB cartoons.

  • exactly!all my classmates had even back in the 70s the exact opinion not just on content but the qaulity of animation.

  • Now let's dip our pat-ties in the wa-ter! SNAP!!! Classic!! LOL!!!

  • By any chance, do you have this whole episode that you could post? I love the line where he says "Is there a doctor in the house, is there a doctor in the house?" Guy stands up and says he's a doctor, and Bugs goes, "Eh, what's up doc?"

  • The ep is posted by melvinacme.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I can see by your post that you love the same line I do. lol

  • What happened to Melvin Acme. All his videos are gone.

  • once again bugs bunny twisting gender identity by pretending to be a female manicurist.

  • How can you tell whether Bugs is a male or fmelae anyway, then again, WHY does it matter?

  • in a companion looney tunes cartoon bugs had a nephew who refered to him as uncle bugs and taught him how American history evolved with rabbits as the main protaginists. beside the manner in which bugs acts in most cartoons he is a tough guy with a heart of gold who would help out anyone in a pinch like the good samaritan. :-}}

  • It's been ages since I saw a Bugs cartoon, but I always kinda thought of characters as neither sex really, I rememeber once I thought Bugs and Daffy were girls. Daffy because Daffy sounded like a girl's name to me. ANd Bugs, I dunno, maybe because rabbits seem femminine to me.

  • I always thought rabbit from winnie th pooh was a man. Everyone though I was nuts, but come on she's a total butch!

You can tell Bugs and daffy and Sylvester are guys because they aways have female ones to distract them from things...unless they're lesbians

hahaha no I'm just being weird sorry

  • I knew Sylvester was male, but kinda thought Daffy was female at 1 point.

Porky COULD pass for a woman too:)

It's funny we never had a cartoon with Bugs and Sylvester, they would have made good enemies!

  • Bugs also fell for Daisy Lou among other female bunnies. (Space Jam probably isn't cannon but he did fall for Lola Bunny.)

I think that each of them have a gender that is pretty obvious. Bugs just kisses guys because come on! He has the CONFIDENCE! It's kind of his way of saying, "VICTORY BITCH! COME GIVE ME A KISS SO I CAN PECK AT YOUR DIGNITY SOME MORE!"

But in the same episode that he falls for Daisy Lou, when a guy tries to touch him, he's incredibly disgusted. Lesbian? XD No. Confident.

  • so basically you are suggesting that bugs bunny is more like Cary Grant. I can accept that! HA HA HA

P.S. Cary Grant portrayed a woman in I was a male war bride.

  • great video

  • I love this episode............my stars

  • Ken Harris animated this shot.

  • ... and is already mentioned in the credits, along with the other animators involved.

  • My stars, Bugs, you cross-dressing closet case you. You're forever the best!

  • who wrote the credits?! "Mal Blanc" "Marrie Melodies"?? hah. typos galore.

Either way, awesome video, and glad to see that other people also view this as a classic scene and have posted it... thanks!

  • Myyyyy... staaaars...

  • Man, that monster is SO ugly! Makes me think of a fur-covered chicken tender. Just thinking of that makes me lose my appetite!

  • Hahahaha!!!!

  • Not "Gossamer." In this cartoon the monster is called "Rudolph." He wasn't renamed until much later.

  • Actually, in this cartoon (his first appearance) he had no name at all. He was called "Rudolph" in 1952s Water, Water Every Hare. To my knowledge, that was the only cartoon where he had that name. Once he was called "Gossamer" by Marvin the Martian, the name stuck.

  • i prefer gossomer. But i always thought his name was Monster.

  • Bugs is a classic brings back a lot of memories

  • Another classic Looney Tunes clip!

  • Bugs is very naughty for doing thats, I think Gossamer is a big softy.

  • my stars, monsters are such iiinterestin people,i said to my girlfriend just theotherday i said... I love the dialogue, the quick transitions bugs makes to keep the monster off his guard. and the monster just cries when his "patties" get caught in the mouse traps. think of this kinda stuff and just laugh

  • I LOVE THISS!

  • Very INTERESTING scene!

  • "now let's dip our patties in the water" (LOL)

  • I named my red Trans Am after Gossamer for this cartoon!!

  • Cartoons don't get any better than this, OK?!

  • Heavens to Betsy, I wish Bugs would do my nails.

  • My Stars!!!!!!just the Best!

  • Bugs as a flaming manicurist is the BEST! I'm gay and that is not offensive at all. MAN I miss these kinda cartoons.

  • Gossamer?

  • BLAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • hmmm this is interesting....

  • I'm suprised noone's posted the full version..

  • Sorry, my mistake. I was talking about "Water, Water Every Hare". But don't worry, "Hair-Raising Hare" will follow soon enough.

  • This part used to make me laugh so hard. LoL

  • he's my favorite character!

  • mine too. way funny

  • Actually, 'brnet', "Water Water Every Hare" was originally released in 1952- and the voice of the "Evil Scientist" (who only SOUNDED like Price) was Jones' favorite "utility voice" at the time, John T. Smith [who also provided the voice of the sadistic construction worker in "Homeless Hare", 'Crusher' in "Bunny Hugged", and the Sergeant in "Forward March Hare", among others].

  • "I said to my girlfriend just the other day, that monsters are the most INteresting people, MY STARS..." XD Love this to no end.

  • I love this cartoon

  • "Now let's dip our patties in the water" Ha! I love it!

  • what is the name of this episode that bugs bunny gives GOSSAMER a manicure

  • The name of the episode is at the beginning of the clip: "Hair Raising Hare" a 1946 Merrie Melodie.

  • I LOVE GOSSAMER! can anyone tell me more cartoons of him? you can also be gossamer in the upcoming wii game acme arsenal

  • My stars, I can't believe we can see this one again. I love this. Thanks for posting and I am going out and get the CD.

  • This cartoon was remade in 1955 as Water Water Every Hare and the mad scientist was voiced by Vincent Price.I still like the original one better!

  • lolz, MON-stars!

  • is there anywhere we can find the full cartoon? its one of my favorites :]

  • "My stars I meet the most Interesting people" Bugs as a gay beautician I love it and this was made in 1946!!! Stands the test of time

  • go to 'Bugs the beautician...again' it's the 2nd half (where bugs is the hair dresser)

  • This is one of my favorite Looney Tunes shows of all time. It's certainly my favorite Bugs Bunny Episode.

  • "Mal" Blanc?

    Come on!

  • oh...my...goodness.

    i am SO embarrassed! I can't believe I missed that. <blush>

  • Bugs Bunny is the best character EVER! I loove him, lol.

  • Well, no wonder I haven't been able to find it. Thank you. :)

  • this episode is on looney tunes golden collection volume 1

  • What is the name of the cartoon where Bugs gives Gossamer a haircut, and all that is left of Gossamer is his shoes?

  • That was "Duck Dodgers and the Return to The 24th 1/2 Century" ... the one from 1980, not the original from 1953 (thus the "return to" in the title).
