If someone told you there's a chance you will have an accident driving your car, whether man made, or an act of nature would you put on a seat belt or not? co2 is not a "health hazard" in the sense that it will kill you. It changes climate that is all.... Beyond that is is a fairly inert gas that could only kill you in high concentration via asphyxiation.
