I am communist and I support the ideas of Lenin and Stalin, I also recognize the role of Mao, but this revolution was needless and stupid. Firstly because it had no control, it was an anarchy movement, ppl even destroyed Tchaykovsky's works claiming that he was a Soviet revisionist, despite that he lived and died at XIX century. Kung Fu(Wu shu) schools were closed, because they were "the old", and the funny thing is that after that, they turned back and undid what they did at this revolution.

This is probably a low point in Chinese cultural. Most of ethics were foreever lost even to these day. That was really a shame. This is good documentation.

The cultural revolution was a necessary thing. The Chinese 'culture' at the time resulted in centuries of stagnation and an elite that were hooked to opium. The large territory of the Qing dynasty meant that the Chinese grew lazy and indifferent to the idea of war. By the time they fought back (opium wars) it was too late. Such backwards thinking needs to smashed, just like how Qin Shi Huangdi destroyed the divisive thinking of the warring states.
