During my time in 3rd guard ( Bravo company) in 1993-1995 , he was my OC and SSG Azmi my CSM. He was a nice person ,very professional soldier and a proud guardsman. i am proud to be under him during my NS time . Bravo company was best company and we also got the best infantry unit under Major Toh Bee chew ( another good guardsman). .Really pity and sad to see Bernard tan passed away just like that . A good guards commander. May u rest in peace ,sir . regards PFC lim cw .

He did not passed away in AHM, but he passed away during Biathlon, just distance away from the finishing line.

Prior to this event, he have some heart problems. But like what someone mention, you can never take the guards spirit out of him.

3rd Guards was my first Unit for 14th Monto Intake PTP/BMT from June 12th 2009 to September 5th 2009. So many memories in such a short time.........The current Commanding Officer of 3rd Guards, LTC Mohd Fahmi, was a true commander. He knows how to secure the Unit, especially Alpha Coy.
